Between now and the past century, men and women fought for equal rights, whether it was in the work force, school, and/or family. Essentially, they strived to balance the differences between men and women, for example, when American citizens participated in the Women’s Suffrage Movement to protest for the woman’s right to vote. Although gender equality has shown a success, there are still many differences in how men and women are treated in today’s American society. This includes labor pay, family situations, sports, and schooling. In favor of every person receiving a fair chance at earning what they deserve, these differences between men and women should be modified. Women have increasingly become associated with working jobs as adults, with less complaints from surrounding colleagues and coworkers. But the comparison between a woman’s work pay and a man’s work pay is significantly different. Spreading awareness that men are just as equal as women, and women are just as equal as men can be effective. Eliminating single-sex classrooms can not only supply the girls and boys to ability to learn to their capacity, but it can teach them that gender equality is important and necessary for tranquility. To find a solution to the work pay difference, businesses should pay based on their employees’ performances rather than pay based on their gender. The current excuses employers make that women will leave the workforce due to children, that they won’t work as hard, or maybe that they are stealing opportunities from men should not get in the way of a woman’s right for equal pay. These solutions can be achievable to secure gender equality if every citizen were to understand the importance, need, and benefits of gender
