He is a pathological liar. He literally lied to his children to convince them that stealing was an ok thing to do. He also lied to his wife when he tells her that she is the only woman he loves. He also lies about how great his children are and tries to convince everyone that they are great, even though most people know better. Willy is also not loyal to his wife, who loves him more than anything else in life. He cheats on her repeatedly when he goes to Boston. He cheats with a woman, whom he treats better than his wife by giving her brand-new stockings while his wife is at home mending her old ones. He thinks he is too clever to get caught, however his sons unexpected visit turns that belief upside down. Willy is a very prideful man too, which cost him many things. His pride costs him his job with Howard Wagner because he tries to convince Howard Wagner he is better than he is, which leads to Howard firing him. He is also to prideful to accept a job from his neighbor, Charley. He doesn’t want to take the job because Willy believes that it will make him less of a man and it will hurt his massive ego to accept the job. Willy’s pride ultimately cost him his life, because he would quite literally rather die than accept help from his friends and family.
