William Wallace was the first man who attempted to fight the English rule over his country of Scotland. His tale was told in many poems and books and even in a feature length film. He is renowned as a great hero in his attempt to liberate Scotland from English rule. He is a good example of my definition because of his brave acts. Born in about 1270 William Wallace planted the seeds of rebellion in may 1927 with the assassination of William de Heselrig. Later that year he led a battle at Stirling bridge in which he massacred the English. His largest battle was the battle of Falkirk in which he lost his army and his reputation. He then served as a diplomat but he couldn't gain any support and eventually was captured by King Edwards men. He
