Shakespeare did not play any sports and just read and wrote stories. He loved to write about all kinds of things but most of them had some sort of tragedy in it. Shakespeare's dad was very successful and was an alderman and bailiff. In the late 1570’s his dad was not so lucky at that time and his fortune was declined at that time. He had gone to school free of tuition because his dad was the alderman and bailiff.

In 1597 he had wrote thirty seven plays and fifteen of them were published. He had bought a house in Stratford and it was the second biggest house in Stratford and the house was named new house. The house was four days away by horse so people believed that he stayed in town and wrote and only went home once a year. He only went home during the

William and his family have had problems with fires and other disasters. In 1554, part of Stratford was burned down. Shakespeare's house was almost burnt down but because there was a creek near the house it was saved (Levi 145). In 1555 there was another fire, even though fires were common then many houses and buildings were burnt down, but his house was not harmed (Levi 145). When William was about twelve, his father's fortunes began to take a dive. Though the reason for this is debated, many think that John Shakespeare neglected his family business and was involved in many lawsuits. As a result of their debt, John had to transfer land and mortgage his wife's estate. By 1578, the family became so poor that they didn't have to pay the local taxes. William left school at thirteen to help on the farm (Quennell 133). When he was older and first started writing his plays, many people did not like them, because of this, he became very discouraged and almost stopped (Halliday 158). Once Shakespeare got started his performances nearly doubled. He had trouble keeping up on all the work and he could not write as much as he had before (Halliday 164).

Due to the confusion of a minor mistake from Shakespeare’s time, his true birth date, along with where his education took place remains a mystery. The only things that biographers have to hold onto are suspicions as to where these events could’ve been observed. He became a "gentleman" after inheriting his fathers coat-of-arms, even though actors were generally looked at as rogues and vagabonds. He probably wrote his 154 sonnets during this time as well. They were published later on in 1609.
