William Carlos Williams was born September 17, 1883 in Rutherford, N.J. His father had emigrated from Birmingham, England, and his mother from Puerto Rico. He was admitted in 1902 to the medical school of the University of Pennsylvania, where he met two poets, Hilda Doolittle and Ezra Pound. A long term friendship ensued between Pound and himself, such that Williams said he was able to divide his life into two distinct segments: Before Pound and After Pound.1 From 1906 to 1909 Williams did his internship in New York City, writing verse in between patients. His first book was published in 1909, just before a trip to Leipzig to study pediatrics. In the following years Williams wrote not only poems, but short stories, novels, essays, and an autobiography.
In 1946 he began Paterson, an attempt to write an epic poem about the city. Williams died in 1963, while working on the sixth book of Paterson. William Carlos William Carlos Williams based his life on helping the poor and all aspects of the human world that appealed to him were in their most basic form. What appealed to Williams was not the glitzy and glamourful, but the true qualitites sometimes being old and worn out. He found that pride was more important the materialistic qualities. Many of his poems explore nature and use it to explore and explain human behavior as he sees it through his own eyes.
A few of these poems that use simplistic language to paint a very descriptive and clear picture of other aspects of life are Love Song, Apology, Pastoral, and Tract; all produced by William Carlos Williams. But there were few things which were very specific and stood out in his works. All these poems use nature to explore aspects of human life. A theme which exists in all of these poems and most of Williams' literature is the simplicity of the language he uses. Many believe he did that in order to separate himself from other poets of his time. Most people believe his justification for the simplicity of his language was because he wanted to stand out, be remembered, and be praised.
I agree with them, but maybe it's just the kind of language that appealed to him and he thought would appeal to others as well. The first poem entitled Apology portrays that quality of looking for the true aspects of nature and humans, not the materialistic ones.

...rulson, Marquart, Vaughn, Bever (2010). The connection between his life and his work can be seen in several of his plays.
Prisoner security categories are used as an assessment system to assign convicts to a category that is appropriate for their crime and/or for the safety of the public. There are four categories, each with their own criteria. The category a prisoner falls under depends on the nature of their crimes along with the potential danger to the community if they were to abscond from the prison . A convict’s category will be assessed once they first enter prison, the assessors within the prison service will consider the inmates likelihood of inflicting harm upon themselves or others. These categories are for prisoners who have been deemed mentally or physically able. These categories fall in to one of two prison types; open or closed prisons. Open prisons are institutions where prisoners have more freedoms and are able to move freely around their settings, prisoners will only be placed in Open Prisons if staff considers them as trustworthy. Lastly, closed prisons are considerably more secure and inmates must follow a strict schedule.
Walt Whitman’s hard childhood influenced his work greatly, he was an uneducated man but he managed to become one of the most known poets. Whitman changed poetry through his work and is now often called the father of free verse. Especially through Leaves of Grass he expressed his feelings and sexuality to world and was proud of it. He had a different view at life, his hard childhood, and his sexuality that almost no one understood made him introduce a new universal theme to the world. Almost all critics agree that Walt Whitman was one of the most influential and innovative poet. Karl Shapiro says it best, “The movement of his verses is the sweeping movement of great currents of living people with general government and state”.
In dealing with Prison Procedure, I feel that many things are put into perspective all the way from intake to the release of an inmate back into the community or until they have served their sentence and their time is up. Everything in a prison must be on close watch. The workers should be watched just as well as the inmates. All the prisons procedures should be followed under a very strict manner to ensure that the prison functions properly and effectively.

On February 27, 1807, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine to Zilpah Wadsworth and Stephen Longfellow, an excellent lawyer and Congressman. Longfellow’s grandfather was General Wadsworth and he was named after his uncle on his mother’s side, Henry Wadsworth, who died while serving in the Navy. He was the second child born to a family with only one other boy, but that would soon change as he has a total of three brothers and four sisters. After Longfellow was only 7 months old, his mother wrote about his “fondness for singing and dancing” (Beebe). As a young boy, the poet loved to read and listen to stories told by the foreign sailors. Hearing the many different languages as a child must have, later on, inspired him to study foreign languages. Also, having such scholarly parents who encouraged reading at a very young age helped Longfellow discover his passion for writing. Though H.W. Longfellow enjoyed “normal boy activities”, he rather preferred reading under a tree, enjoying nature; which, presumably, is because his mother appreciated nature to a great extent.
