Will There Really be Spring for Women?

Amidst the excruciating devastation, the threatening screams of men and the weapons of death and defame pointing at her she holds the flag high as she pursues her freedom. Holding the gun firmly, she raises the flag, and unleashes her anger and frustration. Running ahead of men and over the dead bodies she seeks her own revolution, a fight for her human rights. The most prominent colors in the image are green, brown, and beige which can be compared to the colors of camouflage, most likely representing war time. The men’s expression also seems to be portrayal of their anger and anguish towards this woman. It is apparent in the image that the appearance of the woman in the battle field depicts her attempt to move towards a more secular form of society and to liberate herself. Whereas, the men are clearly against such an unconventional movement. The image is drawn from a website called Chappatte. The words written under the image are, "Le Temps"as well as the words, “The New Arab World” which successfully illustrates rebellious and a modern woman from the Arab World.

The men seen in the background represent this attempt to suppress the woman. The fatal weapons directed towards the woman includes: gun, sticks, a knife and a phone are clearly drawn to expose the threat towards the woman who is moving forward in search for a free and just nation. In the far left corner, a man is showing a peace sign; which indicates that men in some of these countries consider the suppression of women as an act of peace. While, another man is holding up his phone to capture this incident and record it as a disgraceful behavior.
