Also, some students make excuses to not attend their courses because they do not want to study. For example, some students rely on their classmates to take from them notes about their courses as an excuse to be absent from their classes. Therefore, they struggle when they take final tests because they might not understand their classmates’ notes, and they fail their courses. Students have to be responsible for their attendance and manage their time because they do not want to fail their
For example, low motivation comes from people around the person who lower their interest about college or anything. “Also, many students get affected by their friends who always have bad grades, and who dropout from school because they give up on it and they make other students do that too and not believe in themselves (Complex sentence)”. In addition, the low motivation could also come from the students parents who are not always supporting them and not encouraging them to do better in school, and that might be the reason students make their decision to have bad grades and dropout from college. Also, the stress could affect students too as they mention in “Peterson 's Blog” by Brian Pivik, “Going to college is stressful, there is no doubt about it. If you are just graduating high school, then the amount of coursework mixed with the personal life and new sense of independence will get to you.
However, students are dropping out of college because they will likely run into a casual chain of events that give them every reason in the world to dropout. Starting with the wrong choice of college and relying on their families, then, leading to stressful financial situations and lack of support from the school; It can be even worse for first generation students to deal with. Finally, if those factors have not caught up to a student, then the lack of course material that interest a student may be the final
Frequently students are unfocused due to thinking the subject they are learning is boring or not interesting . Students tend to ask, when will i need this is life? Is this important? In other words they find excuses to put something to the side, only for their argument they have better things to do. The lazier they get the more behind they get in class which leads them to having really low grades.
If a parent doesn’t check and make sure school work is completed, then the child doesn’t see any reason to do the works, ends up failing and most likely drop out of school. Second, parents may cause children to have low self esteem which can push the child to drop out. For example, if a child is told continuously that he or she is dumb or not intelligent enough; they actually start to believe it and do not perform well in school. The student starts to doubt his or her abilities and just give up. Third, another reason stu...
In our educational system today many students tend to drop out early due to the fact of lack of motivation or they can’t be in school anymore. Charles Murray, author of “Are Too Many People Going to College?” states the importance of the educational system in America. He has different viewpoints on whether certain people should attend college or not. The lack of interest in school and learning is playing a major effect on the student’s decisions to attend class. However, many students just attend college for a semester to prove to other people that they can survive college for a small amount of time.
Some other students become so discouraged by the idea of college that they drop out all together. Through my research, steps are incorporated to help keep students from such a drastic alternative. Most commonly, students that plan to attend graduate school become either discouraged by the years added or eager to complete their education process early. Each of these three cases involves a diversion from the original plan and they can all be avoided using the same applied theories. I conducted research to determine reasons why people tend to drop out, change majors, and cut their education short.
When teens are having issues and are not successful in their studies it often forms a negative downward spiral in their commitment to school. If students have no commitment to their academic success, they have no incentives to go to school. When a teen have no attachment to their school their desire to be there begins to change. They do not see the need to go to school. Some white teens have been promoted lacking the skills needed to be promoted.
Not everyone drop out because they lack the determination to finish, instead they run into other obstacle while equipped with the motivation. Those of which are trying to regulate the balance of work and school, unexpected family problems, and financial problems. Unprepared students sign up for school because they think a degree is a “Pass “ to the middle class, trying to get one step closer to their goal but drops out of college. The first cause of students dropping out of college is due to the fact that they are unable to balance their work and school together. Students who are working while going to school can often “bash” more than the government’s acceptable hours of work.
One reason why students dropout is because of something that happens outside of school—they become pregnant, get arrested or have to work to support members of their family. Also students drop out because students who have generally been promoted on time from grade to grade and may even have above grade level skills but at some point become frustrated or bored and stop seeing a reason for coming to school. Once they reach the legal dropout age they leave, convinced that they can find their way without a high school diploma or that a GED will serve them just as well. Also why students dropout is that students who are perceived to be difficult, dangerous or detrimental to the success of the school and are subtly or not so subtly encouraged to withdrawal from the school, transfer to another school, or are simply dropped from the rolls if they fail too many courses or miss too many days of school and are past (or in some cases not even past) the legal dropout age. My last reason why students dropout is students who fail to succeed in s... ... middle of paper ... ...nant women.
