Why a Government is Necessary for a Country

What is government? Government is a person or group of people who control and make decisions for a country. It has a number of particular roles to help make a country survive and function successfully. I believe that without the roles a government provides a country would not function and would eventually fail. Therefore, I think government is necessary because without it there would not be any provided protection, resources, and regulations.
Protection is something that keeps a person or group of people safe from harm. A Government provides protection to help keep people in a country safe and secure from potential threats outside the country. For example, if a country did not have a government then anyone from outside the country could come and attack. There would be no protection from anyone coming into the country, stealing food, massacring people, and then taking over the country. Without a government, a country would be unsafe and potentially unlivable. John Adams said, “Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people...” ("John Adams Quotes"). Without a government protecting the country from outside threats, the people would then have to be on constant alert to guard their house and family. I think the best way to have a successful country is to have not only government protection but also resources.
Does a government provide resources for the citizens in the country? Yes, a government provides many resources for the people in the country. ...Therefore, I think that government is necessary because without it there would not be any provided protection, resources, and regulations for the citizens in the country.
