In this times education is different from before, we have more technology more sources that we can research now, let’s say is easier than before, when I started going to school we didn’t use the computer much, I remember that if you need to find a meaning of a world you go to a dictionary that is separate by letters and was easy to find it, now you use your cellphone, computer or tablet and search the meaning there, another example is when you had to a do a research of a topic or do a homework your helper was a big book that you have to read and find there the answers there and now once again we have the technology that you just type the sentences and there are a lot of pages with the answers and the explanation also the technology helps you …show more content…
Why do I have to take that class? What do I need math in school and for my future if I want to be a psychologist and in this carrier they don’t need math? Always hate it, never doing bad in math but always hate it, can’t understand numbers, equations, formulas, etc. till one day I sat trying to focus in that course (in this class doesn’t worked my study strategy) trying to think what I was doing bad, why in this course my strategy doesn’t work and what I need to do to start imaging numbers as characters and in that way understand a little bit, hours passed till one minute boom something come to my head, why not trying to start playing with the numbers try to solve and equation in a way that I get the right answer but if the strategy of the teacher doesn’t work, I get one in my own but always getting the same answer as the professor. Since that day my life change, simplify my life in math and now I like it, I can do number without a calculator, of course not all of them but comparing as before it was a big progress, also I can resolve problems, solve equation with knowledge and not guessing what I am doing, another thing that help me a little bit when I didn’t get the same answer is asking questions to the teachers, am a shiny person and I didn’t like to …show more content…
We were not born knowing how to talk, eat, walk, and write, our parents teach us how to do it, also teach us the virtues in this life, our parents don’t repeat constantly the same words to kept the virtues or the teachings, they explain to us in a way that we kept it in our minds forever, education should be the same, interpret what the teacher says in a way that we kept it
.... We no longer have to go to the library for example to conduct research. We can use our home computers at home. Kids are learning at an early age to be computer literate. The fact that we are in the technological age has changed how we learn and gather information. The government deserves credit for inventing the internet and trying to change laws to improve pay and hold teachers accountable. During the past election, there was so much talk about the government role in improving education. Our current president believes ultimately parents have to ensure there kids meet the challenges of the future.
Education is in itself a concept, which has changed over the millennia, can mean different things and has had differing purposes according to time and culture. Education may take place anywhere, is not constrained by bricks and mortar, delivery mechanisms or legislative requirements. Carr (2003. p19) even states, “education does not necessarily involve teaching”. Education, by one definition, is the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life (education, n.d.).
Back when my parents were in school they were required to do their reports with the help of the good old encyclopedia. This required numerous trips to the local library and heavy book bags. At that time computers didn’t have the benefit of the worldwide web. As time has gone by, technology has advanced numerously. The world is growing and we must grow and adapt to it.
The economics, as an independent subject has already existed in this world for a long time. Maybe some people believe that the knowledge which is contained in economics is so far from them that it is not necessary to consider about is. Actually, economics always hides in our daily life and effects decisions what we made. Once I have hold the same opinion of economics is not really my business, but I do not think like this any more after I studied this subject. Economics no longer acts as an abstract terminology lying on the textbook far away from me, this word became meaningful and I am sure it will make some changes not only in my mind, but also in my future life.
Furthermore, the learning process is easily enhanced when technology is used. First, with Internet access in each classroom, it allows the teacher to access massive amounts of information in just a few seconds. This information can be given to the students in a clear, easy to read format as it is projected onto the screen. With such easy access to information, students are able to learn more in a smaller time span, while teachers are able to be more efficient in how they teach. This makes the education a person gets from their school more valuable for their money; and money is important as college costs continue to rise.
Use of modern methods does not mean discouraging old methods of learning. Technology is just more enriching the system of education. Technology is use bring new innovations in educational system. To make learners meet the challenges of new eras with more confidence.
and the internet have created a generation of students that are capable of learning through
New books and research studies are posted on the Internet daily for the world to read. In the past, if you were from a poor school or a sheltered community that banded books from school libraries, you may not be able to read some important information. Making the student that had the opportunity to read and learn this new information better educated than a person who did not have the same books on their school library shelves. The author of the article The internet as a classroom explains this fact when she says, "We have arrived at a new moment in history: a moment in which such terms as class, race, gender, sexuality, nationality and ideology are no longer useful" (Hendricks). This statement applies to education because information can be found on any subject on the web.
Digital technology has led to advancements in tertiary education, such as off-campus and distance learning, on-line tutorials and on-line lectures. Students who would otherwise travel great distances or relocate in order to attend classes can now study from home. This has given rise to higher numbers of students enrolling in higher education (REFERENCE/CITATION REQUIRED). Therefore, increasing the education level of the population, diffusing knowledge amongst a greater number of people.
Education is a very important aspect of the lives of all people all over the world. What we learn, not just in the classroom, shapes who we are. We take our education everywhere we go. We use it when talking to our buddies about sports or music, we use it while solving a math problem, we use our education while debating with our family whether or not we should watch TV or go to the movies. Our education is the foundation of who we are, since every decision we make and every thought we think is dependent on what we know. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone craved learning to such a degree that at lunch tables all over the world the topic of conversation isn't who likes who, or how drunk someone got over the weekend, but it would be what books were read over the weekend, and what new ideas were thought of. This crave for learning would be an ideal but still suggests need for improvement with the current educational system. It seems that the problem with education is that somewhere along the lines the human race forgot (assuming they, at one point, understood how valuable information is) that learning is not just a mandatory process, but also an opportunity to transcend and open the gateway to a better understanding.
Devlin believes that mathematics has four faces 1) Mathematics is a way to improve thinking as problem solving. 2) Mathematics is a way of knowing. 3) Mathematics is a way to improve creative medium. 4) Mathematics is applications. (Mann, 2005). Because mathematics has very important role in our life, teaching math in basic education is as important as any other subjects. Students should study math to help them how to solve problems and meet the practical needs such as collect, count, and process the data. Mathematics, moreover, is required students to be capable of following and understanding the future. It also helps students to be able to think creativity, logically, and critically (Happy & Listyani, 2011,
When we are first born we are already gaining knowledge from observing the people and things around us. As we group up we learn how to talk, walk and do other things by watching other people. It is very important that knowledge-making takes place early in life. At a young age we begin to learn all the important parts of our lives. We learn about traditions in our family. We find things that interest us. It is extremely important that children are taught at a young age, because once they begin to grow up if they have not learned the basics of life they will not be able to live on their
Firstly, most people today get all their information from the internet instead of books . While the internet is great there are some problem with getting information online. One of those things is sources anyone can create a website with information. The problem is that anyone can write information on the subject and the information could be wrong. Today everyone has the option to
The schooling system which runs the students’ everyday lives is one of strict policy. There should be a bit more leeway in the way the teachers teach and the way students learn. Each individual’s mind works in its own way; no two minds think exactly alike. So the golden question is why teach every mind in the same manner? Some people learn slower than others, while others pick up things before they are fully taught, there is no real way to increase your learning speed, there is only a way to increase the capacity of what you have learned. It is possible to learn an endless amount of information, but instead of working at a students pace, the schooling system forces students to learn at a certain speed, and if that speed is not reached, the student suffers.
This age is dedicated to more of learning age. It is said that even the teachers are the learner. This is the age of knowledge gradually shifted towards the age of communication. Thought and ideas are playing a crucial role in the present 21st century. The period when the denial and ignorance was the answer to the learner’s inquisitiveness has no solution. The answer to these questions is the technology which has solved problem to very much extend. People call such kind of change where teachers are supported with the technological tools to prove their worth. It does not say that previous centuries teachers were not efficient or they do not have that kind of knowledge. In the present time, the knowledge has got the support of the technology to explore. The learners are satisfying their requirements to the larger extend. The technological tool such as internet has shown great difference. The use of videos and photographs, 3D picture support, animations and documentaries and use of computers especially has changed the whole scenario. The most advanced version we have seen are the mobiles and the various applications which are loaded in mobile has taken the world in strong fist. The laptops are converting into the interactive machines which are loaded with n number of facilitation.
