Meriam-Webster Dictionary defines food as “material taken into an organism and used for growth, repair, and vital processes as a source of energy” (Mish). Food is simple, yet humans have made it very complex. In the United States of America, food has become more of a hobby than a nutritional need. Every family gathering, holiday, and birthday celebration contains food of some sort. Types of food are customary at different times, like birthday cake at a birthday party, or stuffing at Thanksgiving. There is an entire holiday dedicated to dressing up and giving children candy (Halloween). One of the popular holiday foods is meat. An average of 10 million land animals (not including fish or other water dwelling organisms) are brutally slaughtered
What if there was a way we could make kids perform better in class? What if we could minimize school dropouts? What would it take? Childhood performance in the classroom is demoting, because students may not have access to the proper nutrients and vitamins to keep them going during the day, which results in not comprehending certain concepts and being too much to handle. Although some districts say that supplying healthier lunches is too costly, schools should continue to give students healthy lunch options. Healthy lunches could keep kids focused in class, reduce childhood obesity, and set them on the right track for the future.
Since social media has provided a way for people to share pictures of their food, the college diet has become something of a joke. For every post of someone’s delicious top-tier food, there’s a comment in which an anonymous student says that they’ve eaten nothing but ramen (or similar cheap, easy food) for the last 6 weeks.
Sushi has taken California by storm due to its healthy nature. Sushi uses fresh ingredients and the average meal is below 400 calories. California is known for people living healthy lifestyles. We can also see that sushi consumption across the country has increased each year. We plan to capitalize on this trend by creating a small sleek modern sushi restaurant called Nichibotsu.
“Health is wealth” all grown up man or women understand the relevance of this saying. But what about kids who stand very far away from healthy foods and shows no mercy on rejecting the food which is vital or important for them. I have kids at home who have same tendency and they keep visiting to doctor more often. A great health of the kids is not only the requirement for the parents but our country also required it. Only then the upcoming generation would be able to lift the responsibility of our country. As a parents we want our child should grow with good health so he can fulfill his dream without any hindrance of health problem because somewhere down the line we as a parents understand that staying healthy is vital for proper growth and development of mind, body and soul as they need to focus in the class and fully participate in the activities on the field through out their life time.
There are a lot of unhealthy foods in this world. I think that we as Americans should change the way we eat because there is a lot of talk that the United States is one of the fattest nation in the world. Even in school kids don’t get healthy food that parent thinks that they are getting at school. In school lunches the kids pick what they want to eat and it’s not always the healthy thing on the menu. The food they give in school is not fresh and they just have to put in in the oven and that 's it. There is a lot of chemicals in the food that they give us kids. In the school that I go to the food is so nasty and something is raw. If your kids go to a school like the one I go to they wouldn’t want to eat the food so they buy chips.
This statement by Druckman portrays the belief that women cook for the emotional experience while men cook for the technical experience. Research conducted by Marjorie DeVault (1991) suggests wives and mothers cook as a way to show their love to their family. Similarly, research by Cairns, Johnston, and Baumann (2010) discusses women’s emotional responses to cooking for their family and friends. Both studies highlight the emotion and nurture women feel as they cook for others. The studies’ discussion about the nurturing aspect of cooking demonstrates the traditional feminine belief that women cook in order to nurture their families as discussed by Friedan (1963) and Hochschild
A blue mini-van is driving along the highway. In the drivers seat is a Father and in the passenger seat a Mother is seen scrolling Facebook on her smart phone. In the back seat is two children; a boy around age 9 and a girl around age 7. Through the window shield you see the reflection of a yellow golden arch. Both children simultaneously ask, “Please?!?” The parents give into their children’s wishes, and order two Happy Meals, just like the other 68 million people who eat from McDonalds every day. Close to 200 million people eat fast food daily, without a second thought. Fast food is cheap and accessible, making it the easy ‘grab and go’ option that millions of family opt for instead of cooking in. But why is fast food so cheap and addictive?

Fast food, it is a guilty pleasure to most americans. Americans know the horrible side effects that fast food can have on them, yet recent data shows, (September 2016), that adult obesity rates are above 20 percent in all 50 states. Not just that, the childhood obesity rates have doubled in children and quadrupled in the past 30 years. In 1970, only about 15% of Americans was considered obese, and now in 2016, 20% of americans are considered obese. It is up to the new set of adults, (18 - 22 years of age), to fix this. This is because they are the new generation of adults that are educated in health and know what to eat and what not to eat, so it is up to them to try and fix America’s obesity problem. A lot needs to change in order for America to stop being the fattest country in the world. Things such as fast food restaurants making their choices healthier, reducing portion sizes, reducing the number of fast food restaurants in the country, and much more. Even though fast food restaurants can be blamed for a large part of the obesity problem, it is also up to the consumer to be able to limit their consumption of fast food. People today should learn self control, and limit their consumption of fast food, and learn to try

People think that the price of fast food is cheaper than a home-cooked meal. Although many people like to eat fast food because of it is inexpensive and tasty, the actual price of the fast food is not exactly same like the menu. The price of fast food sounds affordable, but actually it is quite expensive. This is because people are influenced by the fast food restaurant’s advertisement. It illustrates the price of a set of fast food is affordable compared to cooking at home. When people go to the fast food outlet, they realize the price at the bill is not as same as the advertisement stated. The price is even higher than the price stated at the advertisement. Although the fast food advertisement provides the information that the price of fast food is low, the price in the advertisement does not include the tax and tips. On the other hand, cooking at home is much cheaper than eating fast food. It is always affordable, healthier and more emotional fulfillment when eating at home and cooking ingredients compare to eating out (Warner, 2015). The people only need to buy the ingredients and cook it by our own.It is always affordable because people only need to pay ingredients and cook it at home. There are no tax and extra tips! If people prepare their food in large quantities at home, it is more economical than buy several sets of fast food. According to Yeager (2010), “A family that commits to eating at home can save $3000 in one year and eat just as well,” (p. 52). Save and

Therefore, most of us, especially students and workers, do not have time to prepare or enjoy the moment when eating together in family’s meal than in the past. Because of this reason, more and more services such as: food stands, fast-food store, cafeteria, canteen… appeared rapidly to satisfy our demands. Thus, we have more choices and it also creates a tent to eat out. I found that there are some advantages of eating out as it is fast, convenient, delicious, luxury, no need to wash dishes … Yet, everything also has its disadvantages. So I prefer to eat at home because it is cheaper, healthier, even it takes more time to do. Therefore, I am going explain specifically why eating
