Why Is Greek Mythology Important

Eighth grade middle school teachers should teach Greek mythology because it has a vast variety of things to learn from the stories it tells. Greek mythology teaches helpful morals to be a better human. Greek Mythology helps explain why things are the way they are in a fun manner. Many things we see in real life relate to Greek mythology. In detail I am going to tell you why I am correct. Most people know basic morals don't steal don't cheat follow directions, but many people don't really know a reason to follow these morals. If they're given to someone in a story and I quote "Don't open the box," "she lifted the lid, only a crack, so she could take a peek. If we never learn the Greek gods, then we would never truly understand why some things have certain names. The Greek god Athena created the spider is almost every everyday thing is named after a Greek god. Most people who argue no we shouldn't be taught Greek Mythology claim it's too violent. It's never been too violent in Greek Mythology for anyone in my class because it's in the name mythology if it's named Greek Mythology it's going to be a myth. Fine how about we says it's too violent what about everything else we learn in school Martin Luther king protests where people got killed documentaries with Guns, Murder, Abuse. We have to allow violence because if you did not allow violence to be sought students in the real world would be terrified. My answer and your answer should be yes 8th grade teachers need to teach Greek Mythology in school. When it comes to Greek Mythology it can teach us great morals that we the students will use forever. Greek Mythology can entertain almost anyone for hours on end keeping them engaged.
