In the beginning of the Devil's Arithmetic Hannah is on the very of becoming the normal average teenager of the 21st century, with a serious attitude and, with little to no appreciation for her family or religion. Throughout the innings in this movie there are several important mediums that occur. When the Jews are dehumanized by the Nazi's all that is left is hope, which requires them to take a leap of faith in order to keep themselves alive. Through the torment, pain and thriving survival theme in this story, these mediums really pop out such as the following reliability, quality of information, interest, and how it was presented are key details to the entire story and how it should be recommended and rated for other readers and movie watchers.
Although the movie Devil's Arithmetic may not have been as detailed as the book might be it is a great reliable resource and was easy to understand throughout the story. It follows a young girl named Hannah who was originally from the 21st century. She tried to deny her family's religion and is sent back to a past life of a young girl who lived through the holocaust in a concentration camp. The author uses real creativity, giving insight and showing the experiences of a lifestyle, during the horrors of the holocaust. Hannah learns a deeper understanding of her religious customs and heritage, improving her overall attitude once she undergoes the experiences of the Nazi concentration camp. The book Devil's Arithmetic also gives good background knowledge on how Poland was affected by World War II and the Holocaust.

...atter what, hope is something you cling to through the good and bad times after all it just may be enough to keep you alive, like those in the camps some survivors had to lie to themselves and each other sometimes just to do what they had to in order to survive. Hope is illogical and irrational at times yes, but it gives something to hold onto and believe in, allowing the survivors to endure through anything bearing the ugly despicable deaths and horrors directly in the face. By never giving up hope, Hitler and his soldiers were unable to completely take everything they could from the prisoners. Therefore the Nazi's did not and could not truly meet their goal no matter how gruesome they were, there were three things they could never kill in the Jews lives hope, love, and compassion for one another, making them evermore stronger to keep willing to live and survive.
