Integrity is not limited to that concept applied while dealing with people or during elections as many people may think. It is one of the rules one should use in writing. Even the assignments given in schools or universities has to abide by the concept of integrity. In that case, it is called “academic integrity”. Academic integrity is an important thing that students should be aware of. It is mainly to avoid plagiarism and cheating. It is related to students who do assignments and people who do masters. Every institution has to define for the students integrity and its own rules. Academic integrity can be violated through plagiarism, and cheating. Some people argue that academic integrity is not important, but the majority believe that it is fundamental for studying and learning. There are certain rules to show academic integrity such as documentation, and quotation marks. Anyone who writes should include that in their papers if it is not their own words or ideas. They should give classes for such a subject to make sure that students or anyone who writes an academic paper is on the right track. They also should make them aware of the punishment for such a crime. Students also have to be aware of law. The institutions should encourage students to avoid plagiarism and to respect the academic integrity. Mess would be the result if everyone takes what does not belong to them.
