I want to do something worthwhile with my life, this is why I have chosen a career in Adult Nursing. My aspiration to study Adult Nursing has increased throughout the years. My recent involvement in the college work shadowing nursing placement has reinforced my decision to do a nursing degree. The placement involved completing one week's work experience at a local NHS hospital in which I shadowed a qualified nurse. This experience enabled me to work as part of a team and required me to display empathy, sensitivity, flexibility and emotional resilience. Furthermore I was able to learn all the different aspects of nursing, for example how to take an observation of a patient by taking their blood pressure, their temperature and their oxygen saturation. There are many reasons why I have opted to take this career path, however the main ones are that I love to care for people and want to make a positive difference to peoples lives.
