Over the course of this research project, I learned about social work in a way that I never thought of until the interview process. More specifically, when I asked the interviewee, “What is the most challenging part of your job?” Her response struck me. She said that the most challenging part of her job is “Accepting the fact that you are not going to fix the world problems. You have to know your barrel in fixing someone’s problem. In other words, you have to know where your role ends and where your responsibility comes in. Also, where other people responsibility come in. What you want to be involved in might not be your role and you might work very hard but it still might not feel right. It is important to just focus on the impact that you make as small as it might be.” This response specifically struck me because of how true it is. As a social worker, in a lot of part of this career, it requires communicating, teaching, and assisting people on their well-being. Another aspect of social work that makes me want to pursue this career is the settings in which social worker work at because they are ideal to me. I could see myself working in a school, senior centers and other aging services organizations, prisons, private practice, corporations, military. social services agencies. elected office and policy advocacy organizations. If not social work, I still want to maintain to a field that will give back to the community and help people in any way possible because I believe that it is important for people to get the help that they need on their
