Motivation
The thing that motivates me most in pursuing my college degree is setting the example to my daughter that education is the most valuable thing you can do with your life. Growing up and throughout High School, I never questioned if I would get my college degree – it was always a given that I would complete college. Now that I am 30, it was hard for me to accept that I still do not have my degree. Returning to college now, I feel as if I have a whole new found respect and appreciation of learning. I am motivated to learn as much as I can so I can feel confident in forming my opinions and can contribute solutions to my community. Purpose
My main purpose in seeking my college degree in Public Administration is to seek new career opportunities. I am a natural leader and have strong management qualities. I somewhat 'fell' into training and development without much effort and I have worked very hard to move my way up in a large company without a degree. I could continue my career in the BPO industry, however further advancement would require extensive international travel and, honestly is not satisfying for me. I would like to have a job that can make a difference in our communities and directly impact our government and policy making. …show more content…
