In this letter, I’m going to concentrate mostly on the incentives that drive me to pursue graduate study in International Economics and Finance and reflect the motives to the choice of Ryerson University as well as my career objectives.
Economics as the essential disciplines, which help explain and answer all of related questions to how the world economies run, have become increasingly prominent in every aspect of our lives. As having opportunity to expose to the aspect of economics somewhat by chance, I enrolled in Principle of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics as the general electives. Frankly speaking, this decision was come naturally after carefully considering my business academic background, aptitude, and, especially, my impetuous passion in grasping a comprehensive knowledge of economics. History professor 's Ken Coates and Bill Morrison, in their article, ' 'The uses and abuses of university, ' ' emphasize the mismatch between what students are learning in university, and what the economy truly needs. Coates and Morrison 's purpose is to impress upon readers the idea that post secondary graduates are often bombarded with unexpected difficulties such as struggling to find paid employment, and accepting unskilled, low paying jobs. They adopt a candid approach in order to convey to their readers the idea that our education is not parallel with our ever changing Canadian economy. The article is concluded with an engaging statement addressing the extreme disconnect between what universities are producing, and what the students need in order to bridge the unemployment gap, and that if universities are unable to accept the truth behind why people attend universities, the graduates and the economy will continue to suffer. Through their use of a strong personal story, statistics, and then and now comparisons, they are able to effectively defend their bold thesis.
According to Yeager, Nelson, Potter, Weidman, & Zullo (2001), ‘Productivity and efficiency look at both costs, or expenditures, and at benefits, or outputs” (p. 6) towards institutional development through finances. Within the finance and higher education, productivity is what is needed to keep an institution moving forward, and economist is an influential part of helping schools be more competitive and productive.

My short-term and long-term objectives are clear. I want to obtain the most advanced and rigorous training in finance and economics. I want a career that fosters a lifetime of learning, and finance intrigues me because I believe it is fundamental to many aspects of life. It is a subject I truly enjoy and want to explore. Obtaining my undergraduate education in finance, combined with economics courses, from Loyola University will be a stepping stone to achieving my ultimate goal of a career in a finance corporation or in banking.
Ryerson has many different student services that provide a quality student experience. The four service offers I find the most interesting are the student financial assistance, international student services, student learning support, and student housing services. The student financial assistance is meant to be support students in regards to financial needs during the time at Ryerson. They provide guidance, information, tools, and services, especially on the website and in person. Business students could benefit academically from ‘getting connected’ to this resource by relief of being secured in terms of tuition and can focus on grades. In analyzing factors which contribute university applications, both the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria present similarities through their programs, admission and campus life. Whereas the size of the institution begins to alter the opportunities to travel and study abroad through UVIC, one may find that studying on an island surrounded by one of the most vast substances on earth is just as intriguing. Despite the differences in many universities’ programs or reputation, students will ultimately choose the university which appeals most to their interests. The term university has begun to evolve from an obstacle one must pass to seemingly secure a stable career and a place to solely learn, to a pathway one may choose to further define in his or her journey to success.
Beginning August 28, 2015, I will begin my studies working towards my Master's degree in history. By obtaining my degree I will be furthering society in two ways. The first being, I will not only be qualified to teach history at the college level, but also I will have obtained knowledge that far surpasses the requirements of secondary level history teaching (what I currently teach). The second being, I will become an example for others who come from low income households, and can inspire those who think that because of their socio-economic background that they cannot obtain post-secondary education.

In today's world, economics associated disciplines are of fundamental significance and application and this has encouraged me to pursue a degree in Economics.
