Recommended: Being a teacher is a career goal

Goyne.Session1.Journal I want to go back to school to finish my Elementary education degree to become a teacher and work with Special Needs Students. I know what it is like for some of the special needs students because I used to be one myself. I have always loved school and it was hard because I did not learn the same way as my classmates. I was always behind and I would ask help from the teacher but they would tell me that they were to busy and come back after school for help. I would show up to their classroom and they would be gone. I felt they did not care if I struggled or if I even passed or failed school. I was told when I was little that I would not amount to anything and I proved them wrong. My dream is a two-way dream which means that it is my dream to go back to school and for their dream to start school. I have always wanted to teach, it is my passion and my heart's desire to become a teacher. I have been working and volunteering with middle school students and Elementary school students for several years. Some of the students struggle in school and have a hard time focusing on their tasks. I have been a teacher's aide but never the teacher. My goal is to teach these children that they can have self-esteem, skills to excel in school and have the confidence they need to succeed in life. Some students do not learn the same way as their peers. We have to modify and try to explain things to them that they can understand and comprehend. Since I have been a teacher's aide these few years, I have come to understand why some children struggle. I am determined to make sure that anytime I got to work with students that I would be there for them and let them know that I care and I want them to succeed at school. I know that they can do it
