When I was little I loved Dexter’s laboratory and I swore I was going to be a scientist, I loved movies and swore I was going to be an actress, I played basketball and swore I’d be in the WNBA someday getting buckets and hearing wild fans cheer my name. I had a lot of goals when I was little but when I got to high school I realized what I wanted to do with my life. Reading was always a hobby of mine, but in high school I finally took up writing—poetry at first, as an outlet for my teen angst, and then I realized that through writing I could become anything I want. I could become a scientist, an actress, an athlete, anything I wanted to be— all I had to do was think of a story and then write it. The reason why I chose two majors are because, first my favorite genre is Historical and Period Fiction (specifically concerning American history) and also because both English and History are heavy in the writing and research department which would come in handy for when I apply to Howard Law after I graduate. My goal is to become a Publishing lawyer and eventually I would like to have my own publishing company. Why not just become a writer for a magazine? Why not focus on becoming an established author and publish your own books? Why Publishing? I can write books as much as much as my heart desires, but by having my own publishing business I can help produce more books than I could ever possibly write while also helping dozens of other authors make their stories come to
