The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization which recognizes the students that have shown themselves to be exemplars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. I would be honored to be accepted into such a society as I believe that it will present to me countless opportunities through which I can discover my inner self and grow as a person. As I have always been intrigued by the possibility of making a positive change for others and ultimately myself as well, I feel like I am a respectable candidate for this society. Being the highly-excelling student that I am, I manifest my leadership in my ambitious will to tutoring my peers. My tutoring experiences began when I was living in Poland, where I happily assisted other students in English and Mathematics during and after school. Not only did I help out with homework and classwork, but I also prepared my peers for exams and made sure that they knew the material being covered. When I moved to New York for my 6th grade year at St. Matthias School, I pursued tutoring in math and helped out my teacher grading tests and setting up practice problems for the class to do. Today, as a sophomore, I gladly help others when they need my assistance and hope to become a tutor at Resurrection. In my middle school years at St. Matthias, I took on the leadership role of being part of the School Safety Patrol Program. I ensured that all students leave the building at dismissal time, protected the school from any invaders, and made sure that no child accidentally runs into the street during dismissal time. This leadership position has allowed me to build trust in other people’s eyes and taught me to be responsible for other people. Besides being a leader at school, I have also been granted a leadership position at St. Matthias Church during my middle school years. I served as a lecturer and read the assigned readings at Mass. Moreover I was appointed to do small tasks at Church like passing out the song sheets and bulletins for Mass and offering the gifts during the Eucharist. Having had much involvement in being a leader, I hope that I can continue my leadership when I become a member of the National Honor
The four pillars of the prestigious National Honor Society demonstrate the traits I hope to continually develop: as a scholar, a leader, a volunteer and a person of strong moral fiber. I believe myself to be mature and motivated; I have an unyielding commitment to scholarship and intend to make a difference in the lives of everyone around me. The prospect of becoming a member has prompted me to take a look upon what I wish to accomplish as a part of this organization. By becoming an active participant, my goal is to enrich my school experience by means of volunteering in the community, serving as a role model for my peers, and fostering pride for our school.
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
I would like to begin with saying that I am honored to be invited into the National Honors Society. I am continually setting high standards for myself and to join a group of like minded people would be a very satisfying reward. I consider this invitation for application an incredible opportunity for forward advancement in my scholarly journey. So, to dive right into why I would like to join this honored society, I will briefly expound on my character and traits for you.
Being proud of something can have many different meanings to people, but to me, it means to be honored and to be glad that something happened. I am proud about many things in my life but one thing I am extremely proud of is my induction into the NJHS. NJHS stands for National Junior Honor Society.
I feel that the importance of service is to help a person in need because you could change someone's life, not because you feel that you need to. People who love what they are doing are the people who effect everything around them.Service has impacted my life because it makes me a better person. My family feels the impact, the community feels the impact, even servicing for a few hours a week affects the people around you. It makes the community a better place to live.
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. Throughout everyday tasks in the classroom, or outside of school, I step up and lead those who need to be led. I constantly find new opportunities to lead others and help the situation any way I can. Every summer the band has a marching band camp for a week straight that we must all attend. Being an experienced band member, I step up and assist all underclassmen and show then where to go and what they need to be doing. Instead of getting frustrated when giving the freshman directions, I am calm and collect and walk them step by step until they understand, something most leaders would not have time or patience for. With many plans to help others and lead within my community, I believe that I have what it takes to be a strong, and powerful leader for the National Honor Society.

I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.

To get into NHS, there are four pillars one must fulfill, including, scholar, service, leadership, and character. One may not realize it, but these qualities apply all throughout life. As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. School is an extremely important part of anyone’s life, and I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to attend Lutheran schools from Kindergarten until the present. Our Shepherd Lutheran and Lutheran High Northwest have helped me to grow in my faith and to continue to grow academically as well. Attending these schools has also allowed me to participate in many different extra-curricular activities such as Varsity Soccer in my freshman year, Varsity Track my sophomore year, Pit Band for school musicals, Jazz band, and Pep band. This 2009-2010 school year I also have the opportunity to be the First Chair Flute and Piccolo in regular Concert Band and the other band functions which will provide me with an opportunity to gain experience in leadership which will help me in college and in my future career. Service is an important activity to participate in. During the past two years I have helped my mom and the rest of the committee at my church with funeral luncheons. When there is a funeral at my church the family of the deceased has the option of having a luncheon at the church, and if they choose, following the funeral, the committee that my mom is on takes care of getting the food that the family wants, serving the food, and then cleaning up after the luncheon is over. When they need help I also go and help out. Also, my family recently became a Foster family for the Michigan Humane Society. In November of this year, I am going on a mission trip to Madrid, Spain, with my cousin, who is a pastor, and a group from his church, Valley Springs, in Roseville, California. Our main aim is going to be talking to the college students there and trying to plant churches. We are going to be helping them work on their English, and I will get to use my Spanish. I have also had the opportunity to work in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer nursery which was my first paying job. Every Sunday morning I am in the nursery from 9 until 12, or later if needed, watching peoples children up to four years of age while they attend church.

While these four ideals are present in all members I believe that I withhold these characteristics, as well as numerous others, which qualifies me as an ideal scholar and member of the National Honor Society. National Junior Honor Society as a nation premier organization started to recognize outstanding middle-level students. NJHS is a way to honor students who have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of excellence in the areas of the five pillars which are, scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This organization that was started in 1929 is a great opportunity for me to show my family and teachers how hard I work to get this far. This organization the so many great things in society, and knowing that I could potentially be a part of it and play a part in futuring the impression that the organization has already made. I am a determined student, and will do anything to do my absolute best even when something hard is thrown my way.
