As a resident of Newark, New Jersey, the college community has always been a mainstay in my daily life. I recognized opportunities available in my backyard and commenced my educational pursuits. After receiving my Associate Degree in Sociology at Essex County Community College, I examined Rutgers University to complete my bachelorette degree. There were multiple reasons for choosing Rutgers University – Newark School of Public Affairs. But even so, the benefits extend beyond just convenience. As I relished in a few online courses during my undergraduate degree, I discovered that many of the courses were conducive to my individual learning style. As a self-starter, motivated by learning, Rutgers online courses have enabled me to plan my study around my daily activities and not the other way around. Executing my work in the comfort of my home, allowed me to set my own working hours and I could log into the system at any time, 24/7. With the course material presented, the online courses offer a range of resources and tools that students require, such as uploaded videos, reading materials and simulations for students; similar to the same tools provide if they were physically in a classroom setting. Truly, what makes Rutgers online programs even more remarkable is that it allows students like me to participate in classroom discussion with others students, rather than shy away in face-to-face classroom sessions. My life goal is to move up to a higher position as having possessing this degree will support my career path of becoming a manager or a director where I can help others, the community, and much more. Using both degrees, my MPA and my BA in Sociology, I will be able to utilize my knowledge even more not only to support and development new and innovative ideas but to look at and understand society in a bigger picture and attempting to make connections for the better good of society. Both degrees will be instrumental in that my MPA degree will give me the power to make decisions to achieve common goals, and my BA will concede me to further understand the action of people additionally to the inner workings of both the private and non-private sectors of public administration. After high school, I plan to go to college at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I would like to major in Architecture or Engineering. I plan to go to Iowa State because they have great architecture and engineering programs and because it is close to home. I have wanted to attend Boston University for many years, for a multitude of reasons. The city of Boston has always attracted me due to its diversity, culture, and overall beautiful scenery. I have visited the city numerous times and I seem to fall in love with it ,each time. The memories of walking on the ancient, cobblestone streets ,and eating cannolis in Franklin Park, will stay with me for a lifetime.The idea to be able to attend this university, and make more of these memories would be an amazing experience. Another attraction to Boston University, is the fact that my mother attended the school for her undergraduate degree. This school holds sentimental value for my mother and I, and following in her footsteps would mean a great deal.

As online education becomes more popular there are a number of ways it can be improved. There are a number of pros associated with earning a college degree online. As a student I have spent a good share of my time taking courses on campus and online. As the cost of living increases I see online courses more favorable. Campus courses have been around since the beginning of education.
One of the things I love in life is being challenged. As a high school student, I put forth a continuous effort to challenge myself in all aspects of my life. In academics, I took the most challenging courses that my school could offer me. By the end of my junior year, I had completed all math classes available to me.
With ample work and volunteer experience in public service, I am passionate about continuing a professional career in the field, specifically in the area of non-profit and international development. The MPA program with a focus in government would be an ideal way to combine my interest for private and public sector. Online classes provide the student with more opportunities to be successful in their coursework. Online courses can be completed based on the student's own schedule, provide for faster and less nervous interactions with instructors, and in many cases, are more educationally beneficial setting alternatives to traditional, face-to-face classes.
