I love Netflix. In fact, most of my friends are just as obsessed with the infamous website as I am. When it comes to Netflix, many of us associate it with the term "binge watching." Truthfully, it's my favorite thing to do when I have some free time, or want to procrastinate. I have not been on Netflix all that long; however, I can assure you that my top 3 choices are from the most professional opinion. 3. Gossip Girl- if you are looking for a cheesy, dramatic TV series, this is your show! Centered in NYC, the show features the lives of several rich teenagers. Throughout the series, you'll watch these teens grow into adulthood. It exhibits plenty of drama, love triangles, and gossip to keep you entertained for hours. 2. That 70's Show- I
It has movies that you can't find anywhere else. Netflix uses collaborative filtering technology to send you emails that alert you to movies that you might otherwise never consider. Netflix saw the video- and game-rental market move to DVD and built its business around that trend. Netflix doesn't rent videocassettes, only DVDs (in part because they're lighter and cheaper to mail). Netflix was able to identify and implement a strategy for growth through product and services acquisition, by turning what seemed like an unprofitable rental business into a rental driven financial blockbuster.... ...
Christopher McCandless’ long, fascinating, but an ultimately fatal journey into the wilderness of Alaska is depicted in the biography, Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer. Late in the of summer of 1990, a very young Christopher McCandless left his ordinary world in Annandale, Virginia to pursue a solitary life in the untamed wilds of Alaska. Many will insinuate that Christopher McCandless’ actions were childish and idiotic, but a stronger argument would be that his unconventional thinking and desire to live life on his own terms allowed him to reach self-actualization.
Eggs came first. Millions of years before mammals, eggs existed, their hard shells unlike her mammalian sister who waddles around, heavily crippled with the burden of her womb. Eggs conferred evolutionary advantage.
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
Going to college has been getting more expensive every year since colleges started. Going to college gives a student a chance to find a career in their major of choice. The only problem is that it isn’t always guaranteed. There are millions of graduated students that can’t find jobs in their major. Most of those students have student loans that they still owe and can’t afford to pay off. The average student with student loans owes over $25,000 and that doesn’t include all that interest that piles up every month. The United States should make college tuition free for everyone that has a high school degree. That can be achieved by making colleges give free tuition, changing the way interest piles up, and by lowering the military budget.
Imagine dedicating your life to a university not only on the academic level, but also the athletic level. With a full scholarship your time is dedicated to getting to class on time, finishing assignments, and making it to mandatory practices while also maintaining a strict workout schedule. With your day pretty much full of responsibilities, you do not have the time for a job to pay for anything that you may need outside of tuition, books, and housing. If your car breaks down or you run out of gas you have to pay for that out of your own pocket which is fairly difficult when you do not have an income to cover the costs and if you accept money or free services from any businesses, you could lose you eligibility as a NCAA athlete and lose your
Video marketing is the use of videos to market or promote a brand, service or product. A video is a more vivid, lively and memorable presentation of the marketing message, which results in enhanced search engine ranking, more conversions and click through rates, and better sales. Depending on their marketing plans and goals, companies can use live event videos, customer testimonials, explainer videos, how-to videos, entertainment (viral) videos and corporate training videos, among others, to pass their brand messages more persuasively, briefly and effectively. Today, online video marketing has become popular because it is cheaper to implement and the videos can be distributed on channels like YouTube with amazing ease.
This essay examines three reality TV shows: MTV's The Real World: Denver, CBS's Survivor: Cook Islands, and the FX network's miniseries Black. White. The essay argues that the reality shows promote differences in individuals. Each reality show positioned race as the main factor in the conflicts the cast members experienced while on the show. The shows put the cast members in situations that reinforced “cultural codes” (Bell-Jordan) and stereotypes. The cast members of each of the shows were put into situations that were constantly enforcing racial stereotypes, done on purpose by the producers. In the essay, the author argues that media makes the viewers have a struggle in what they choose to believe. She also states that society participates in an unconscious struggle on how to discern what they see on the television. Society is in a fight to discover what is the meaning behind what they are watching on the television. Viewers are not realizing the material being transmitted to them on the television is causing an impact on how they look at individuals of other races. An individual is unconsciously accepting all that is being transmitted to them, but they must decide how valid what is being portrayed about certain races. Producers give specific roles and place stereotypes on individuals in order to gain viewers. Producers place stereotypes on the cast of their show because it attracts attention from viewers; the producers stereotyped the models on the show Americas Next Top Model. The models were given “roles” that categorize them with a specific race. The "role" the models portray is often dehumanizing to the models and is misinterpreting to who is watching the show. The roles that the models are made to act in gives the viewer t...
Television and Television shows are two elements that can be considered as part of American life and culture. They inform, educate and entertain us on a daily basis. As part of the entertainment television provides, we have shows that have spent decades in the making - - The Young and The Restless is one of the three longest shows in the history of drama production, “Since its debut, The Young and the Restless has won nine Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series. For openers: it’s brilliantly written, performed and film. Each episode has the polish of an excellent feature film – with tighter yet more complex... The show is also relentlessly entertaining. The characters are engrossing. The plot twists astonishing but coherent, and the dialogue mined with ironies and poetic resonance quite beyond what we are used to hearing on the boob tube or even on the commercial cinema screen these days. The Best Television Show If someone knew all of your deepest darkest secrets and were threatening to reveal them how would you handle that situation? The Pretty Little Liars is a show based on mystery, but could also be considered a thriller as well. I would have to say that this show is absolutely the best television series that has ever been made because of how it can keep a person wondering and impatiently waiting on what happens next. This television show takes keeping secrets to a whole other level, and shows that some secrets should be taken to the grave.

Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt like not going to the college the whole day? Of course you have. You think of skipping all the classes, but then you contemplate on the consequences of the choice. The attendance will suffer. You’d miss out on that important question or in some people’s case you’d miss out on the exam. You vote against it and go. Now in the above case you had a choice of whether to go to the classes or not, and you chose to go. That decision may prove to be fruitful or a rather disastrous one, but whatever it may be you have to deal with the consequences that come with it. We make countless decisions every day, every moment and once a choice has been made, the actions play out, and the consequence is delivered. We have to live with those consequences. Our choices and decisions guide our lives and build our futures. Whether people notice it or not, the choices we make today affect our tomorrow.
