Recommended: History and career opportunities in cosmetology

Cosmetology is something I have always been interested in. The feeling I get when I am doing hair, makeup, and nails is amazing. I love making people look good and feel confident in themselves. I always practice new things on my sisters so I can improve and have some experience before I go into cosmetology. Cosmetology is one thing I can never let go of because I love it that much. Brazosport College has an amazing cosmetology program. As a child I always went through my mom’s makeup and put it on myself. As I got older and started learning more about makeup, I started making my mom buy me my own makeup to practice with. I eventually started learning how to use straighteners and curling irons. I started practicing on my sisters and found out I wasn't so bad at it. I had the patience for it and I was excited to see how their hair would come out. Everybody in my house would ask me to do their hair or their makeup and I loved it. I never gave any thought to cosmetology I always just loved doing hair and makeup. …show more content…

I used to just sit there and say all the steps they were gonna do and eventually I got it down perfectly. I loved the shapes and designs they put on the nails. I saw that they sold little acrylic sets at Walmart and my mom bought me one. As soon as I got home my sister let me practice on her. I remembered everything the nail technicians would do and I applied them to my sister’s nails. For my first try it was actually pretty good. So I kept practicing on her nails. I tried all different shapes and they came out pretty
