Recommended: The importance of art

Baylee Milam 523069 Vincent Van Gogh once said, “I dream of painting and then paint my dream.” I have always dreamed of being an artist, I knew that I was going to be an artist from the first time I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Art Education is the major that I have selected to study at UNI, and am excited to start my studies. I selected Art Education for many reasons but the two main reasons that I chose to study art education are because I have a passion for educating others, and because I want to explore everything that art has to offer. Art Education is the perfect major for me because I have a passion for educating. Luckily in high school I have had a good amount of experience educating others. First off I have had the opportunity to teach my school news channel. In this role I teach the students what a good product looks like and the ways to produce a newscast. Everything that I do has an artistic side to it, whether it be looking at a picture on the Internet or seeing a cookie dish. I look at what it took to make and how could I possible recreate it. Every time I go into a store I go straight for the home decor section to see if there is a pot that I want to recreate or a painting that I want to create. I have a large passion for art that will never go away and can only be tamed by learning more and sharing my knowledge about art. Art is the only way that I show my creativity and is the only way I can express myself, which is why I feel it is the best career for me. I selected art education as a major because I have a drive for educating others and because my passion for art is unlimited. My excitement is uncontainable for my future career and to be able to teach others the knowledge I know. Vincent Van Gogh said “I dream of painting and then painted my dream,” and I cannot wait to live my dream in the University of Northern Art Art Education
