Why I believe in God
For my adult Catholic trying to lead the Christ-life, it is useful to recall the reasons for believing. It is helpful to review why we know that God is exists.
Is there a God? Is there a God above and beyond us all? Above our life and death, above our joys and sorrows, above our world and space program? For thinking people, this is really the important question. Is there a God?
People have been asking this questions for as long as people have been thinking, but now so much more is known about this world and about us. There are answers and ideas never known before. The great think, Thomas Aquinas, lived in the 13th century. Not until the 17th century did man discover the microscope, cell structure, the circulation of the blood, etc. Much of what is known about the world has been learned in recent scientific studies.
For me, the strongest reasons for believing in God are shown by the human body. Modern medical science says much about the remarkable design of that body – a design that in many thousands of ways advertises that the most careful, amazingly intelligent planning. In asking yourself whether there is a God, think about that design—for cleverer than the design of any automobile, a watch, and any piece of machinery. You own a body. Think – really think --- about it.
Here are some reasons why your body is a product made by a most Intelligent Designer:
Your skull and brain
The human brain is the control center for the senses and nerves. It is the place for reasoning, memory, and decision-making. The skull protecting this brain is made of tough, hard bone. Light but strong, it is shaped into a design that makes architects and engineers admire its strength, scientists do not yet understand how a pers...

...als, the instincts of us humans, the enormous variety and beauty of it all .we have everything for human lift. Nothing is missing. In the Biblical sense, it all is God.
Believe is God? Considering the incredible design of this human body, the believer is the logical person. It is the agnostic or the atheist who has problems. He cannot understand, cannot explain, and cannot move ahead any further to know what it is all about. For all this design to happen, by chance is similar to a mindless ape striking at ape striking at random the keys of typewriter and accidentally typing the entire Encyclopedia Britannica.
These first words of the Creed are “ I believe in God”, in modern times you can and should say it, mean it and have no apologies for it. And if you believe in God, you can move on to further steps in building your house of religious faith on a solid foundation.
"Where did man come from? Where did time begin? Who, or what, created all things?" These are questions that mankind has sought to answer from the beginning of existence as it is known today. Many stories and fables have been told and passed down from generation to generation, yet two have survived the test of time and criticism.
In conclusion I am left pretty much in the same place as I have started. It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God philosophically. For every philosopher who publishes his or her opinions on the subject, three more are there to tear it down. In the end I think it is best that man does not figure out the answer to this lifelong question. Some things are better left unanswered.
Modern science can explain many things. However, one of the things is yet to prove and will most likely never prove, is: why was everything was created? This is where God steps in. He is the only one who could have created the universe. Thus it can be concluded that the world could not have been created by chance. It is extremely complex and ordered, so much so, that it but must be the product of intelligent design. This is God.
Assessment of the View that it is Rational to Believe that there is a God
Prominent figures like Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens have all argued that God does not exist. However, there is historical proof for God’s existence. Using different theories, this paper will show that God, the creator of the universe exists. The proof that God exists is also seen in the fact that we have a savior, Jesus Christ. Our compassionate God sent his son Jesus to die for all the world’s sin. The sting of sin is death, but thanks to God Christ took away this sting by dying on the cross. Jesus made atonement for sin. It is through Christ that we live. Paul wrote triumphantly in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” Similarly, Christians rejoice because we have victory over death.
The first major part of the creed is the recognition that God the Almighty created the heavens and the earth, anything that is, is made by God the Father. The second major part of the Creed is that Jesus Christ is the one and only begotten Son of God. The key word being that Jesus is begotten by God, not created like the universe or humankind. Jesus being begotten by God, is one with God and is God. Like God the Father, through Jesus all things were made. Being begotten by the Father and one with Him, Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross is what forgives us of our
It serves as a marker for our faith journey and discipleship lasting all through our lives.
I believe in God with all my heart. I believe he created all us the same. I often believe that his love is unconditional. Even through sometimes in life we drift away from him, but he is always there for us when we come back. I also believe that he died for us so that we can have everlasting life. Personally I believe we should put God first in everything that we do because he cannot get far without him. For example; I remember when everything was going good I wasn’t not giving God the praise I should for all the things he have done for me. God drop me very low, so I could understand that he is God and he deserves all the praises. I do believe we
The concept of God can be a difficult one to grasp especially in today's world - a world in which anyone that believes in God is trying to define exactly what God is. To even attempt to grasp such a concept, one must first recognize his own beliefs in respect to the following questions: Is God our creator? Is God omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-knowing) or both? Does God care? Is God with us? Does God interfere with life on earth? These questions should be asked and carefully answered if one should truly wish to identify his specific beliefs in God's existence and persistence.
The first reason focuses on the belief of faith. The following passage is taken from the Bible. It has excellent meaning because it shows that everyone has faith. Having faith is the first sign that shows everyone believes in a religion. There are two good definitions of religion. The first is belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. The second is a personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship. The passage shows that everyone has an institutionalized system that has belief. The passage is as follows, ?Everyone believes in something. No one can endure the stress and cares of life without faith in God. Atheists cannot prove there is no God. Pantheists cannot prove that everything is God. Pragmatists cannot prove that what will count for them in the future is what works for them now. Nor can agnostics prove that it is impossible to know one way or the other. Faith is unavoidable, even if we chose to believe only in ourselves. What is to be decided is what evidence we think is pertinent, how we are going to interpret that evidence, and who or what we are willing to believe in.? (Luke 16:16)(4) The passage is great proof that there is a God. It shows that everyone has faith. Faith is a big aspect in religion. With every religion, there is likely to be a single holy being, a god.
The cranium provides maximum protection with minimum weight, the ideal combination. The other twenty bones make up the face, jaw and other parts of the skull. Another way the brain keeps it self safe is by keeping itself in liquid. Nearly one fifth of the blood pumped by the heart is sent to the brain. The brain then sends the blood through an intricate network of blood vessels to where the blood is needed. Specialized blood vessels called choroid plexuses produce a protective cerebrospinal fluid.
In the question of faith and reason it is ridiculous to claim that God or any matter of the Divine may be proven by reason. And although I agree with the Bernard of Clairvaux on this one matter I agree for a different reason. He leaves the only answer to be faith. I do not think there is any true way to prove religious matters. Though it may be easy at times to disprove them with the use of reason, it becomes difficult to do so with faith. It is impossible to use faith and reason in conjunction with eachother. Faith is a belief in something that does not have reason, so therefore if something can be proved with philosophical reasoning there would be no reason to have faith except for in the case where reason does not answer the question. This reasoning equation, in the end, does not add up.
"Who Is God To Me" God means many different things to many different people. There are a lot of people who believe that there is no such thing as a God. There are people who believe that there is no God because no one has ever seen him. I personally believe that there is a God because of my faith. I have faith in God and I feel that God is real. I have many reasons why I believe in God and who God is to me. But I have three reasons that stand out for me about who God is to me. They are the following: God is always there for me, God is my friend, and God is my creator. These are my three most important reasons of who God is and what God means to me. God has never let me down in my life. Sometimes I feel that God has let me down or that He did not answer my prayers in times that I most needed Him. But I have to realize that everything that God does is for a reason. God has taken a few friends of mine from this Earth at a very young age. I have prayed to God and asked Him why? But I have never seemed to fully understand why. I have come to the conclusion that God works in mysterious ways. I do not think that anyone can fully understand why God does what He does. So for this, I do not feel that God has ever let me down. He just does these things for a reason and if you believe in Him, He will never let you down either. God is the longest lasting friend I have ever had in my life. He was there for me before I was born and He will be there for me after I leave this Earth. God is the best listener also. I can talk to God anywhere at anytime. Every time I want to talk to Him or ask Him a question, He is there for me. Most of my other friends are at least a phone call away, but not God. He has always been there in time of need, even though sometimes I feel like He is not. Even when I do something wrong, He is there to forgive me and set me straight.
The presence of a Supreme Being is an idea that is as old as mankind. We see the argument for an omnipotent being replicated throughout time by philosophers, leaders, and moral educators. They each have unique ideals and testimonies that provide evidence of a being with moral perfection. Proof there is belief that there is a Supreme Being or God can be exemplified by looking at the ideals of three past philosophers: St. Anselm and Thomas Aquinas
Since the dawn of intelligent man, humanity has speculated about the origins of the universe.
