Golf is enjoyed by many people all over the world. Many People and professionals compete in golf tournaments all year round. Golf requires a great amount of focus and hours upon hours of practice. There are many people in the world that consider golf just a hobby or a pastime activity and others consider golf to be a sport. With all of the hard work and practice that golfers have to put in to be a successful golfer, golf should be considered a sport. Golf has been around for many years. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “sport” as “a physical activity engaged in for pleasure” (Is Golf a Sport?) If a person is using this definition of “sport” to determine whether or not golf is a sport, it would lead one to believe that golf is indeed a sport because many people play golf for pleasure.
