When a tragedy occurs, the question often arises about who is responsible. Because their love for each other was so strong, they both don’t make the best decisions. In the end the two lovers meet death and leave a big mark on the world we know today. First of all, one person who is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's tragic suicides are Lord and Lady Capulet. One reason for this is they tried to make all of Juliet’s decisions for her without putting her emotions in mind. If they hadn’t been so aggressive in rushing Juliet to marry Paris, then she could have had time to tell her parents of her love for Romeo. In Juliet’s case, she had other things that she had to think about, such as the ball and how she was going to deal with Paris wanting to marry her. Instead of doing those things, she made Romeo her top priority. Also she could have told her parents or the Prince about her love for Romeo in the first place, allowing them to understand. Yet, in Romeo’s case, instead of getting married as fast as he decided to, he could have took it slow knowing about Juliet’s predicament. Along with that, when Tybalt killed Mercutio, he didn’t have to retaliate by killing him. Romeo could have went to the Prince and told him about Mercutio’s death, letting Tybalt pay the price for it. It was just a question of which one is to blame the most for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. First of all, Romeo could be most to blame for the deaths of himself and Juliet, he asked Juliet to marry him when he hardly knew her. Romeo declared his love for her and went to friar Lawrence and asked the friar if he would marry them, Romeo says "Then plainly know my hearts dear love is set, on the fair daughter of rich Capulet, by holy marriage, when, where and how, we met, we woo'd and make exchange of vow. " If Romeo had restrained himself from killing Tybalt, or waited a day before killing himself after hearing about Juliet's death, it might have ended happily, and if Romeo didn't have such deep feelings, his love with Juliet wouldn't have existed in the first place.
