Beowulf is a very interesting poem. today in Boewulf I learned about the charicters of the poem and the charicters personality.
Beowulf is the main charicter in the poem who is a well known warrior and has the hand strength of thirty men. helater in life becomes the king of the geats and kills two monsters and a dragon.
Hygelac is the king of the geats before he dies later in the poem. his death is the only aspect of the poem that is historicaly recorded.
Hygd is Hygelac's queen and exsamplifies prosterity in royalty.
Grendel is a desendent of Cain and is one of themonsters that Beowulf kills. He menaces Hrothgar and the Danes for 12 years before facing Beowulf in battle.
Grendel's mother is the second monster that Beowulf kills in the poem.

Beowulf fights against monsters and dragons, and he would rather die in battle, then anywhere else. Beowulf is called upon to help defeat Grendel, who is a monster that has taken over the hall of Heorot. He is greeted with great hospitality. Hrothgar, the King of Denmark, is relived to see Beowulf. There is some skepticism by Unferth, who recalls a fight in which Beowulf lost in Battle. Unferth is wrong, and Beowulf says this great line: "fate often saves an undoomed man when his courage is good." Beowulf defeats Grendel with great ease and the people of the hall are gracious to Beowulf.
