Ever since the Avenger 's movie has come out, I have joked that Captain America is my hero. I even purchased a few Captain America shirts to parade around in. When I was in charge of a party, I decided on the theme, “Avenger Heroes” because I thought they were worth while. So why is Captain America my favorite hero? Honestly, I have never seen the Avengers or Captain America movies. I thought highly of him because he seemed dashing, brave and handsome. How pathetic is that? I thought a man was my “hero” based completely on looks! I finally got over fantasizing about Captain America and tried to put my perspectives in order. I decided that I needed to have someone worth while to look up to. Someone I could pattern my life after. Someone, who in my everyday “battles” I could ask myself, “what would my hero do in this situation?” After a quick reality check, I realized who my true hero was. My hero is someone who has been there every day of my life. My hero is the first person who wrapped me in her arms the day I took my very first breath. My hero is my mom. All over the place are sayings about heroes. There are countless definitions of what a hero is or what they should be. Most of these sayings I think, are quite cliché and repetitive. There is one however, that I love. Joseph …show more content…
In everything that I do I look up to her. My mom is the role model that I need and want to emulate. My mom has shown me what kind of person to be and what a great hero truly is. It is hard for me to make a decision without consulting with her first because I know she loves me and wants the best for me. I want to make right choices too because of the person she has been. She has served, remained strong in all things, and has always shown kindness. I think I understand what Abraham Lincoln meant when he said, “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” I second that--my mother my
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” says Joseph Campbell.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a hero is an individual who is admired for great bravery or fine qualities. To me a hero is so much more than a person who shows great bravery. When I think of a hero many fine qualities come to mind; intelligence, courage, altruism, compassion and great bravery.
The definition of a hero in my life, is someone who leads by example and serves as a positive role model. This person serves as someone that I look up to because of their positive attitude and great optimism. This person is also someone who is not selfish and cares about the well-being of people around him. The person who fits these characteristics is my grandpa, Drew Nieman.
There are many of heroes along with role models out there for example like Batman, and all the others we sometimes wish we could be, then there are the real heroes or people who make a difference in people’s life. Like firemen, policemen, and our military who take a risk with their life every day. One of my heroes happens to be my Grandpa, He served in The Korean War, he was the first person in the family to attend a college, and he always puts his family first. He didnt argued with anyone, no matter what the situation was. The only thing that he had to do in spite of hating it was fight in the war.
The person that I see as my hero is my dad. He has always done everything for me. He sacrifices the things that he wants for the things
The earth is huge with all different kinds of everyday heroes. These heroes are all doing different things to help others all over the world. My Michigan hero helps me through stuff and always believes in me. She always helps me up when I'm down. She never gives up on me and always tells me that I can do stuff, even when I'm doubting myself. She walks me through tough times and convinces me to stay strong. My hero is my amazing and wonderful mother.
“When I was a child I thought a hero was always people like Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that a hero is the teenager that says no to crack. The kid who stands alone instead of joining a gang” (Oliver Stone). I agree with Oliver Stone because a hero is someone who cares about their future. Most people would think that a hero would be someone who saves lives or someone like a superhero, but really a hero is just an ordinary person doing extra ordinary deeds.
Hero’s can come from everyday life or a pivotal time in history. They can be a living person or a fictional person and sometimes they don’t even have to be human. One of my favorite movie states, “A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart”(zeus, hercules the Disney movie).most of my heroes come from everyday life. They achieve greatness in the face of adversity. In my eyes heroes are hard working, under estimated, and a little crazy. One of my favorite heroes is Walt Disney, he fits my definition by always worked non stop even though people thought his ideas were non-conventional. He did not choose as simple life of farming but put his effort into making animations and films which revolutionized
When you think of hero’s who are the first people you think of are? Superman? Batman? Spiderman? Those would all be the common responses. Have you ever wondered “what is a hero?” A hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. “There are five qualities that truly heroic leaders have in common. Courage, selflessness, humility, patience, and caring” (Murphy)
The person who I think is heroic, would be my dad. He is the one who has been there since day one. If I needed anything he will drop what he is doing and come help me. He teaches me lessons that help me in my life. If it wasn’t for my dad I wouldn’t be who I am today. I have learned responsibility and the value of a dollar. My dad would give me the shirt off his back or his last dollar. A hero is someone who takes chances or sacrifices something of someone they cherish dearly. My dad would risk his own life for me and my siblings. He talks me through things that keep me down, he brings me back up. A hero is also someone who can be a friend and is there for you no matter what in life. My dad isn’t just my father or guardian he’s my best friend and my hero.
Even before my first tear hits the ground, my mother is there to wipe it away. My mother feels my pain before I can even realize it. She understands my needs before I can even think of them. That’s why we call her a mother. My mother has been an extraordinary influence on my life and always will be. She’s the kind of mom who would always take time out and care for her four children and the mom who would never let her hardships in her life distress her kids. My mother has always been a very strong role model to me, and growing up with someone like her to look up to has changed my life in many ways. She has helped me grow physically, intellectually, and considerately. She taught me to always love, care, and give back to the people I am grateful for.
My mother is my hero because she has taught me to treat others with compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She taught me that those values were important in the best way, by living her own life according to them. She didn’t just tell me about values she felt were important, she lived by them. I have always admired my mother and felt so blessed to have her in my life. I know I am a better person for having her for a mother.
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
...mportant person in my life and I know that she will be always there for me with help, her love, and her care. She’s a wonderful person, she admires the beauty of life, and as a result she is always in a good mood. Now, like my mother, I’m a positive thinker, and I am a creative person who believes life is what you create it to be. I also know if I have to make any big decisions in my life, I can always ask my mom for advice because she has the wisdom and experience. I also know that she will tell me the truth even if it is not something that I want to hear, but she will tell me with kindness and without any judgment. My mother is my role model because she does so much for me; she gives me everything she has just to make my life easier. I love my mother and I am so thankful that she is the way she is. My mother is always there for me and I would do anything for her.
My hero is my dad. He is my superman. He is my leader. My dad is a dad who motivates me and keeps me going, even when I want to give up. He is there for me when I don’t want to try anymore and he always keeps me going. Of all the heroes in the world, my dad is at the top of the list.
