He is also known as a songwriter, music producer, pianist and remixer. He started to make music when he was 14. Graduated in both musical and law school in Netherland at 1995 and 2003. His music career began to take off at 2001. (Armin van Buuren, 2016)

Armin started his music career in 1988 and 1989 with his first collaborate with Ben Liebrand (Shawbel, 2012), he began to mix his own mixtapes for his friends at school and receive feedback from them in order to improve his next mixtapes. In 1997, Armin released his own song called "Blue Fear" which was a success for the young Dutch producer. Following that track is another big hit in 1999 for him called "Communication" after it was release, it became popular in Ibiza, Spain and furthermore it stay number 18 in UK top chart 2000.(Billboard, 2016)
