In a neighboring district of my high school, an article was published in the Grand Ledge High School newspaper titled, Why feminism is not necessary. It is pertinent information that the author of this piece is a white male. That is not an assumption; his picture is pasted right next to the article. It’s widely-known that white males hold a comfortable position in today’s society, and always have. White males have always had an opportunity for education and to form opinions on issues that are not their issues. The average white male does not experience discrimination, and therefore does not have the capability to understand what it’s like to experience discrimination, on a small or large scale.
