Two outdoorsmen are out in the wild of the north. They are on a mission to deliver the body and coffin of a famous person. Their dogs disappear as they are entised by a she-wolf and eaten by the rest of the pack. They only have three rounds of ammunition left and Bill, one of the men, uses them to try to save one of their dogs that is being attacked; he misses and is eaten by the pack with the dog. Only Henry and two dogs are left; he makes a fire with leaves and scattered branches, trying to drive away the wolves. They draw in close and he is almost eaten, saved only by a company of men who were traveling nearby. The wolves are in the midst of a starvation. They continue on running and hunting, lead by several wolves alongside the she-wolf, and when they finally find food the pack starts to split up. The she-wolf mates with one of the wolves and has a litter of pups inside an abandoned cave. Only one survives after several more famines and harsh weather, and he grows strong and is a feisty pup. The puppy learns the basics of hunting and survival. They come to an Indian village where the she-wolf's (who is actually half-wolf, half-dog) master is. He catches her again and White Fang, her pup, stays nearby. Soon, she is sold to another Indian, while White Fang stays with Gray Beaver, her master. White fang whines and cries but it does'nt help. The other dogs of the village terrorize White Fang, especially one named Lip-lip, who for now is bigger and stronger. White Fang becomes more and more vicious, more like a wolf than a dog, encouraged by his master who beats him. One day he meets is mother and is turned to a light-hearted pup but, his mother does'nt even notice him. He kills other dogs that used to terroize him. Gray Beaver goes to Fort Yukon to trade and discovers whiskey, which he calls sweet water. White Fang is passed into the hands of Beauty Smith, a monster of a man who got Grey Beaver drunk and tricked him into selling Whit Fang. Beaty Smith put White Fang ino dogfighting and he fights other dogs until he meets his match in a bulldog from the east and is saved only by a man named Scott.
Flying Tigers is the name of a mercenary group of American pilots that helped defend China and the Burma Road from the bombing of the Japanese during World War II. The name of their planes was Tomahawks, but the Chinese called them Fei Hu for the sharks teeth painted on their planes. Flying Tigers were known as the American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force. The Flying Tigers did not see combat until December 1941 when the Japanese started bombing China.

White Man’s Dog, along with other members of the tribe believe this was a direct result of not fulfilling the Cold Maker’s mission. In this novel, dreams are a catalyst for redemption. This is evident when Fast Horse has another dream to justify his wrongdoings. However, Welch’s humanizing portrayal of the characters in this novel allows the reader to grow with them throughout the novel. In Fast Horse’s case, he becomes self-centered, much like the white man, and leaves his tribe to join a marauding tribe that pillages and plunders. This personifies his standing with his once family, and how he has turned his back on them to pursue individual goals, rather than communal obligation. Other members of the tribe soon follow suit, as Welch describes them as “being drunk on the white man’s water” (Welch 70). As a respected member of the tribe, Fools Crow attempts to aid those who have gone astray within his tribe.
Black Dog shows up and says the white demons threaten violence against the Tang people. The white does throw a brick through the shop window. Tang people believe that a person can change their name because they believe people change as they grow up. WindRider had inventions that he has made when he was growing up, he is very proud of his inventions. This chapter also has the story about how he got his name “WindRider.” The Tang people stuck together in groups called “brotherhoods.” MoonShadow was not allowed to attend regular school only Tang people school. MoonShadow got too go outside with his father on the delivery cart, MoonShadow was a bit scared to leave Tang Town. They found out why, MoonShadows grandfather got murdered because he refused to let the white demons cut off his quene. Black Dog went missing it had took ten days before the company decided to search for Black Dog. MoonShadow and WindRider found Black Dog in trouble from a rival brotherhood he had stolen money from them. Though there are some aspects of the book I personally don’t like, it cannot stop Dances With Wolves from being a great epic tale of life on the prairie in 19th-century America. Narrating the story in the third person, through skillful applications of figure of speeches, Michael Blake talks about cross culture, equality and respect in the book. His looking at the story Indian and white army from a new angle provide me a better and broad understanding of the history. Reading this novel is really a great adventure to me.

The novel, The Call of the Wild, follows a four-year-old mixed Saint Bernard and Scottish shepherd, named Buck. In the beginning of the story, Buck lives in the home of Judge Miller, located at Santa Clara Valley, California. In Santa Clara, Buck lives a luxurious life. At the time of the story, gold is discovered in the North. With this discovery, the value of large dogs like Buck escalated dramatically. The dog’s value was due most to their ability to haul heavy sleds through the abundant snow. Unfortunately, Judge Miller’s servant, Manuel steals Buck to sell him to a band of dog-nappers to pay for his accumulating gambling debts. The ring of thieves that bought Buck is gaining a secure banking by trading the dog to northern executives. Buck, who has had an easy life so far, does not adapt well to the terrain as the other canines do. Buck does not easily tolerate the confinement and mistreatment of his new authority. Buck’s gains the misconception, which then is an aide that any man with a club is a dominator and must be obeyed.
The Call of the Wild, by Jack London, is a classic piece of American literature. The novel follows the life of a dog named Buck as his world changes and in turn forces him to become an entirely new dog. Cruel circumstances require Buck to lose his carefree attitude and somewhat peaceful outlook on life. Love then enters his life and causes him to see life through new eyes. In the end, however, he must choose between the master he loves or the wildness he belongs in.
Six thousand years ago in Northern Europe a teenager named Torak wakes up with his shoulder throbbing in pain. His father lies next to him bleeding from an open wound. The two have been attacked by an enormous demon bear, which is bound to come back at any moment. As he bleeds out, Torak’s father can only bare to say a few more words. He says that the demon bear will only grow stronger with each kill it makes, and he also tells Torak that he has to go to the Mountain of the World Spirit in order to defeat the bear. With his last few breaths he reveals that a guide will find Torak and lead him to the mountain. There is so much more that Torak wants to know, but it is too late. He hears the bear crashing through the forest and takes off in the opposite direction. After running for miles Torak stumbles upon a small wolf den that had been destroyed by a flash flood. The only wolf who survived the flood is a small wolf pup. The pup gives a small howl and instantly memories of the past begin to flow through Torak. At a very young age Torak’s mother died and his father placed him in a wolf den for three months. The wolves took him in and raised him as one of their own. While in the den Torak formed a strong bond with the wolves and learned how to communicate with them. Back at the den the pup begins to howl, and Torak joins in. The two become great friends and treat each other like brothers. The wolf calls Torak Tall Tailness and Torak calls the pup Wolf. The brothers track, hunt, and play together for many moons. Torak comes to the realization that Wolf is his guide, and together they begin to head north towards the Mountain of the World Spirit.
P-51D Mustangs zooming by and all you can see it the bright red tails of the aircraft. As we all know by now that the Tuskegee Airmen were one of the best if not the best fighter squadron of WWII. I wanted to write some about aviation that interested me and affected the outlook on minorities in aviation. First on wanted to talk about how this whole outfit started also what it took for them to become the red tail as we all know today. Also what other planes the flew during the war and some off the big named pilot that came for the Tuskegee airmen and what they did after the war.
The law of club and fang applies to all creatures. Both man and animal are lured by the attractive forces of their ancestry. It is up to them to decide if they are willing to submit to the call and embrace their primitive nature. The Call of the Wild enlightens readers with a story about a dog who yields to said call and renounces his domesticated ways. Jack London juxtaposes the events in The Call of the Wild with those in his life by creating characters that are indicative of mankind, and incorporating the themes of heredity and the influence of the environment on both man and animal and double meanings of places and characters in the novel.
It's about fairy tale creatures stuck in modern day new york. The protagonist has to solve the mystery of a series of deaths that have taken place in their community.One of the best points of the wolf among us is that you get to be the detective. Unlike with crime shows or books the player gets to decide what evidence to examine, who to interrogate, and gets to make the hard choices. The characters are extremely interesting and complex and it seems that everyone has a motive, making it an interesting fast pace case that you yourself have the opportunity of
The film follows the journey of a Prince, Ashitaka, who was cursed by an animal god turned demon, whom he had slayed. The curse had made him inhumanly strong which would eventually consume and destroy him. This forces him to travel to the land of the demon’s origin to search for answers and for a possible cure. During his journey he discovers the Irontown, the ironworks Lady Eboshi runs and the wolf-girl, San, who carries a hatred for humans because of their destructive behavior.
This is a story about two mothers who go so far as fighting to help protect their children. The cow fights to protect her child from the Bear whereas the Bear is fighting so that her starving children can have some food. The Bear was being powerful for standing up to fight the Cow and the Cow was strong for keeping her ground and not being frightened by the Bear. In the end however, they eventually became the victims, dying and being killed instead of one of them being the true hero which reflects back to the comment in the chapter, “Diana’s have a way of dying” (). The story takes place in Mossflower, a forested area where the animals of Redwall live. It takes place in fantasy times. There are no humans, just animals roam the earth. The Main Characters: The main characters are Mattimeo who is the son of the great warrior mouse of Redwall, Matthias. Matthais is the great warrior of Redwall whose son has been taken captive by Slagar the Cruel. Jess squirrel is a normal Redwall inhabitant whose son has also been taken by Slagar. Orlando the Ax is a huge badger and his daughter Jube has been captured by Slagar. The last main character, Basil Stag Hair, is a veteran foot fighter rabbit who has an enormous appetite. Summary: This is a story of a boy becoming a man. It is told through animals and fantasy. It starts with the animals of Redwall having a peaceful celebration of the new season. Slagar and his evil henchmen came to the celebration disguised as entertainers. They spiked the animals drinks with a sleeping potion and kidnapped all of the children of Redwall, including Mattimeo, son of the great warrior mouse Matthias. When they awaken they send out a search party to find the children. Matthias, Jess, and Basil discover the trail of the missing children. On their way they met Orlando the Ax who was also looking for his daughter, Jube. They found out that Slagar was kidnapping children and taking them as slaves in a slave train to an unknown realm. They finally caught up to Slagar and were going to rescue their children but were fooled into going into a cave.
