Intrepidity, An Independent Essay Christopher Reeve pointed out, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” A name given to someone who displays valiant attributes is a hero, they deserve such a title because of their current actions as well as prior. They would be extolled and respected for those actions yet, does that mean the hero hasn’t felt anything. Society thinks that a hero wouldn’t show cowardice, although there is an exception, they would never be the noble and brave person without persisting fear. Fear gives a hero their determination to be brave, to overcome the state of being afraid. So if a hero is dauntless but still in a sense, fearful, then how would
Ultimately, a hero does many sacrifices. They do sacrifices for many people, actually. A hero just does not have one goal, but they can have any goals that they want to achieve. Some heroes do not do the good. They can be bad at first, but soon make their own way to turn good.
Anyone can be a hero to someone if they do something to help another person who is unable to do a certain task, but this is not the only quality of a hero. This can include taking the trash out for the elderly. Some, like John Barth, say “Everyone is necessarily the hero of his own life story.” This also means that one does not have to defeat anyone to be a hero because one could be having an internal conflict with oneself. The characteristic being selfless is a prime example of how the heroes of today are and what they do for society through their selfless acts. In the book Anthem, Equality 7-2521 is fearless and persistent in many ways.
What is an archetypal hero? There are many steps and stages you would have to go through to succeed as a hero. A hero to me is a person who is brave enough to never give up on something or someone feeling a need to do good for another. A hero could also be a parent, friend, or anyone who you feel that has taken time out of their lives to help you in any special way that positively made a great impact on you or your life. It isn't about the magic, the perfection ,or being known, it's about the ability to help others without no regrets nor feel a need.
What is a hero? That is the question that has many different answers depending on who you ask. There are some pretty popular answers to that question. One of those answers is; “A hero is someone who helps other people, or helps to make other people's lives better.” Another is; “A hero is a person who tries to make the world a better place.” or “A hero is a person who does something that is more than what is expected.” Still others are “A hero is someone that doesn't do something for his or her own problems but for the benefit of others” and “A hero is a person that doesn't want to be a hero just to be famous.” Those were just some statements about what people think a hero is, but what about the qualities a hero should have? There are many qualities that people think a hero should have.
The definition of heroism and altruism can be considered differently in a contrast. The definition of ‘altruism’ is “feelings and behavior that show a desire to help other people and a lack of selfishness”, whereas ‘heroism’ is “great courage”, defined by Merriam-Webster. Where a hero has the great courage to “save the day”, altruism is the compassion of helping others. Although there are heroes who are unselfish, there can be some who do it for the fame. There are different qualities when it comes to realizing what a hero truly is.
What is a hero? What does it take to be one? A suitable hero is very hard to find these days but it can be somebody you will never expect to be one. A hero to me, is mainly someone who does good, noble deeds and is just genuinely a good person overall. To be one, I think a hero should put others first before themselves and should affect other people around him in a positive way.
The Successful Hero on a Path to Failure What is a hero? Is a hero is a great individual with powers or qualities that separate him from the rest of the society or world for that matter. In a sense, perhaps, I think a hero can be much more than just having these particular qualities. In my opinion, a hero is someone that also commands great respect. There must also have been a great event or deed for someone to be deemed a hero.
A typical hero can be defined as someone who stands up for what is right and is courageous enough to sacrifice themselves for others. A person does not need superpowers to be a hero, but it is their possession of certain characteristics that makes them heroic. Heroes come in many forms and there are many different characteristics to a hero that make them stick out like a thorn. It is these very characteristics that contributes to the hero facing challenges alone, as it is only they who possess them, and the heroes having that ability to do so. In many heroic folktales the author selects a character to be the one who saves the day, and it is this character who is instilled with hero characteristics that single them out from the rest of the characters.
In Beowulf and Grendel, directed by Sturla Gunnarsson, Beowulf is depicted as caring, compassionate, noble, and understanding, which makes him seem as if he had every trait of a true hero. He seems quite the opposite, however, in the story Grendel by John Gardner. The book Grendel portrays Beowulf as sinister and ruthless, which makes him seem less of a hero. What society values in a hero today is portrayed more in the movie than the book, which suggests that one is considered a true hero only if he or she has certain heroic traits accepted by society. One characteristic a person must have in order to be considered a hero is honor.
