It is just as bad as death; loneliness is the worst kind of murder. Our characteristics we have are related to the characteristics that our parents have. We grow into ourselves by the caring from our parents and depending on what their characteristics are, we may be like them or we may be completely different. It upset him so much that it just pushed him over the edge. You would do the same thing. Shelley is trying to show that people shouldn’t base their judgements on appearances, because its whats on the inside that counts. Characteristics are passed through parents and grandparents just as they are established with how you are raise. Victor had a wonderful childhood and yet he turned out completely different than his parents. Power can be death. The power that Victor wanted, drove him mad. He brought to life a creature that was as compassionate as him, but he treated it as a monster and lead him to killing everyone that Victor loved. The creature made Victor feel as lonely as he was. Shelley tries to communicate with her audience the effect of loneliness between people throughout life.
