3.1 Introduction In this chapter I will discuss about the methodology of this project. Several methods are used to determine the research objective. Methodology is a systematic way to solve a problem. It is a science of studying how research is to be carried out. Essentially, the procedures by which researchers go about their work of describing, explaining and predicting phenomena are called research methodology.
Validity A research is valid to the world when a number of key concepts are used in the research design. The document must be organized and planned according to the criteria used in the field. Some important concepts to know include: validity, variable, operationalization, sample, measurement, measurement error, causation, plausible rival explanations, hypothesis, reliability, and unit of analysis. The researcher must learn how to apply each key concept in an effort to make the research study valuable. These concepts will be reviewed individually to be able to understand how to apply them when writing a research paper.
Research design is a systematic and strategic method used to study a scientific problem. A researcher’s goal is to formulate a scientific model using methods which promote and create further questions in understanding behavior and events. The purpose of a research design is to provide answers to research questions, plan of study, and allows accurate assessment of cause and effect relationships between independent and dependent variables. Its framework is configured of elements which help to determine the type of study, research question, hypothesis, variables, and methods of data collection. A research design can be referred to as a plan that involves the interconnection of philosophical worldviews, research methods, and selected strategies (Creswell, 2009).
Each question should be related to the objective of the study. Literature review is very important aspect of the research process, it provides the inputs and guides the researcher to design a new instrument or use an existing instrument which can be used to analyze the data
The Importance and Appropriateness of Utilizing Different Methodologies for Research. Introduction The process of research entails the logical as well as systematic search for useful data and information with regard to a specific topic (Jha, 2008). It is also comprised of the investigation of the best, most cost effective and appropriate solutions to both social and scientific issues, following an objective and logical analysis. Jha, (2008) defines research as the search for knowledge and the discovery of the truth. During this process, the data can be gathered from a wide pool of sources among them interviews, books, nature among others. The data can then be analyzed with the appropriate data analysis tools, so as to report the findings
Fourth, this research is intended to develop and test the research model with a wider audience as a follow up research. This again requires identification of multiple views and concrete factors contributing to success of e-learning ecosystem. To guarantee internal validity, two critical strategies namely method triangulation and data triangulation were employed to understand the underlying relationship between critical intertwined factors. In this research, qualitative method triangulation includes systematic literature review and interviews and qualitative data triangulation for this research involved multiple interviews and multiple data sources.
Qualitative data are commonly used as a means to gather information on the informant’s participation and satisfaction. The process and decision to create a qualitative design chart takes a researcher closer to understanding the types of information that can be collected, based on each research design. By arranging information in an easy to follow chart, data types can be observed, and collection processes and how to collect the data can be clearly identified. There are numerous methods to collect data, and the participant observation method of data collection involves observing a subject or subjects that you want to collect data. Observation data collection has several styles of researcher participation in this type of observationa... ... middle of paper ... ...ing accurate and honest collection remains paramount to a successful research project.
PROBLEM STATEMENT: The problem statement is a concise description of the problem the research intends to address. It defines and presents the issue for the research in order to frame specific questions. It also provides the context for why the research is necessary and potentially valuable to the discipline.... ... middle of paper ... ...clude making suggestions for improvement and speculating on future directions of research. REFERENCES/BIBLIOGRAPHY: References are a list of works cited within the text of the research and usually compiled at the end of the research report. References present the reader with the opportunity to look up information and read more about the research.
According to Seidman (2006), the interviewing conversations conducted in a qualitative research are based on the interaction between the interviewers and interviewees thereby generating/collecting effective research data. Kvale (1996) also states that interview just reflects another form of social interaction that relies on interviewee’s personal status and characteristics. He suggests such personal elements are potentially to affect the generated data and data analysis. Hence, it is essential for the interviewers to structure purposive conversations that are able to guide the interviewees to answer the questions in depth from the expected perspectives. Moreover, another important factor to consider in terms of influencing data generation is the use of technology in recording and storing interview data.
It is also important to determine whether it starts from some existing theories or hypotheses. The research is conducted to prove whether or not these assumptions are true. 1.2.2 Research methods and reasons of chosen them for research purpose After establishing the research problem and what results are wanted, it will define how it will find the answers. Research is a form of collection and interpretation of information that will form the basis of finding answers to questions.
