Recommended: Moral and legal status of abortion

What is abortion? For those of you who do not know, abortion is killing a fetus in the mother’s womb before the fetus has the opportunity to develop. Scientists may argue that a fetus does not become a person until it is born, but I do not agree. I believe the fetus is a human being as soon as it is conceived, and aborting that child should be considered murder. People have many reasons for wanting to abort their children.Some say they can’t afford another baby; others say they don’t want the child because they hate the person who got them pregnant. Often times women who are raped and get pregnant will want to abort their child. In this case the mother has options that don’t include abortion. One option is to give up the baby for abortion instead of aborting it. There are hundreds of couples all over the world who can’t conceive a child and would be willing to . Instead of killing the baby, they can give the child a second chance by giving it to a couple who will love them and give them a good home. Therefore, I believe abortion is not the way a mother should handle the problem. “A psychologist said that about 10% of the 1.6 million women who have had an abortion experience severe emotional trauma” (Cung). "About 61% of abortions are obtained by women who have one or more children. The number of U.S.declined 4% between 2008 (1,793) and 2011 (1,720). The number of clinics providing abortion services declined 1%, from 851 to 839. Eighty-nine percent of all U.S. counties lacked an 2011; 38% of women live in those counties" (Cung). I know this is a horrible world, but they are not giving their child a chance to live their lives. If you do not have enough money you can give your child up for adoption, there are people who cannot have children and want to adopt. Not all the people in the world are abusive and your child might be in a loving home. If you believe in God, the Bible says that "abortion is a sin". In some religions a woman cannot have communion after she has an abortion. In any religions, people get punished for what they did and they spend lots of time begging for forgiveness. Finally, abortion causes psychological trauma.. Many suffer depressed after they abort their child. Some women even kill themselves out of regret. So please think about what you’re doing before doing it. It can cause a lot of pain and suffering to you and the people who love and care about the baby.
