The Industrial Revolution was a period of time where agrarian and handicraft processes changed to that of an industrial one. It took place during the 18th and 19th centuries. The Industrial Revolution consisted of industrial and machine manufacturing and took place in rural societies of Europe and America. The movement first started in Britain and slowly reached other parts of the world. Before the Industrial Revolution, people did all the wearisome work that had to be done by hand. With the industrialization came an increased array of manufactured goods and some ease from working so hard. However, it also resulted in barbarous employment and living conditions for the poor and working classes. Before the occurrence of the Industrial Revolution, many people domiciled in quaint, rural communities. They mostly depended on farming. The average person’s life was very difficult; they were usually short of money and malnourishment and disease was ordinary. People produced their own food, furniture, clothing, and tools in large amounts. Manufacturing typically took place in homes or small shops, and people used hand tools or simple machines to produce goods.
