The beginning of the Industrial Revolution marked the evolution of machinery. The very first step into the Industrial Revolution started in Europe and England because, there was an increase in population in both places. Making products with cotton took a lot of time and skill in order to produce a lot, they made the first ever textile factory in Great Britain. Using the factory caused a double in production, therefore making more items in a less amount of time. As people observed how expensive and the amount of labor that went into producing cotton went down with the factories. People started experimenting with other materials in order to make them inexpensive as well. And with that came the steam engine inventing a new ways to travel.
New technology took off right away! Steamboats were invented in the early 1800's, but it took until the 1820's to make them a common site on U.S. rivers. In the 1840's their popularity kept rising as they continued to increase the amount of trade possible. The reaper, for farming, was also developed in 1831. This allowed more farming in the west on the prairies.
During the 1700s the Industrial Revolution first began in Britain , but traveled throughout Europe and the United States into the 1900s. Many inventors invented items to make going through life during this time much easier, technology improved,their were many changes in society, and working conditions improved shortly after.
Many new advancements in textiles and transportation, took place during the late 18th and 19th century. This time period was called the Industrial Revolution, it was the expeditious development of industry. It was brought on by the establishments of machinery. As a result, the inventions shaped the economy and it helped civilization reach further into technology. The Industrial Revolution started in Britain because of its resources and geography.
The industrial revolution started around 1750. It began in Britain and it spread through out the World. England was known as “the world’s workshop” because at that point in time, England was the major manufacturing center of the World.(Bailey) It took about ten years for the industrial revolution to spread to other places. It spread to America. The Industrial Revolution was favorable to the American colonies by bringing the factory system to America, supplying more employment which increased urban growth, and raising the national economy.
The Industrial Revolution was the major advancement of technology in the late 18th and early 19th century that began in Britain and spread to America. The national and federal government helped the United States grow into a self reliant nation with improvements in transportation, technology, manufacturing and the growth of the population. Americans had an economy based on manual labour, which was replaced by one dominated by industry and the manufacture of machinery. It began with the expansion of the textile industries and the development of iron-making techniques, and trade expansion was enabled by the introduction of canals, improved roads and railways. Everything used to be made in people’s homes using handmade tools, yet now everything is done in factories using mass production. The Industrial Revolution began over two centuries ago and has had a major impact on every current world power. It began in a group of islands off the North West coast of Europe and has been imitated or tried by every nation looking to increase its wealth and power throughout the world. Industrialization came out of the basic ideas of capitalism because it fostered individuals who were willing to take high risks in hopes of high returns on their investments. These investments included factories and machines that would be put to use by people to better their standard of living. These entrepreneurs would return their profits back to the expansion and improvement of their factories and machines.
The Industrial Revolution, as stated above, began in Europe. This may have been one of the reasons for the rapid growth and success of the revolution. At the time, Europe was the perfect starting ground. This was for three main reasons. First of all, agriculture in this region was flourishing. This allowed for the first “sparks” of innovation to occur. Secondly, due to this increased agriculture, the population in this region was larger. This created the minds and the work force behind the revolution. With all three of these combined, the industrial revolution was formed, allowing for numerous inventions and innovations.
Due to the new uprising of cotton and woolen textile industries; not only did it bring forth new ideas and inventions, but it also caused riots among laborers because they couldn't find jobs (because people were replaced by machines). It started off as a manufacture done at home. They had to go through different stages like sorting and cleaning, in order to make a product. These jobs were mainly done by women and children. Raw materials for these industries were imported from countries like China, West Indies and Africa.
