Making the switch, making the change, being able to live healthier and to be proud of that is a difficult, but amazing thing to do. Before any physical changes should be made, I think it all has to start with mental health. There are many different ways to achieve a good mental health and to get into the right state of mind to make these healthy changes. Self-acceptance, self-help programs and stepping outside of the box are all associated with mentally getting in the right frame of mind to make healthier lifestyle choices. Self-acceptance is the most important part about mental health. Accepting yourself, who you are and your body is an extremely important part about mental health and even physical health. Making healthy changes in your life is never an easy thing. Self-acceptance is in my opinion the first step, and the most important step in successfully making these changes. I read somewhere that if you did not love yourself before the change, you will not love yourself fully after the change. We must first appreciate ourselves for who we are, or it will always be an ongoing battle with us. In my experience, I had tried to make healthy changes many times before, but I was never happy with who I was, so one day, I decided that I needed to first love myself. I started slowly but surly, accepting more and more of who I was. It all fell into place after that. I had changed my eating habits, I was very active and would visit the gym 5 days out of the week, sometimes more. It was all so much easier to stay on track with from that point. If we cannot be okay with the shape, size, color or other details about our bodies and always be expecting to make ourselves look just like someone else or look a certain impossible way, we will never be happy with ourselves and we will always be let down. Filling your mind with things that will spread good, positive thoughts are always a good idea. There is never too much happiness. By reading, or watching or associating with anything that attributes to self-help is a good thing for a healthy mindset. We need to be in the proper mindset to change for the better and these things help us to do that. They are sort of like motivation. In a lot of these books they tell you how to "feed the soul". Which means to "feed the soul" with happiness. These lifestyle changes help you to feel really great and to lead a better life, It is just initially difficult to take those first steps. A lot of the time it is because people think they can 't do it. That is the wrong mindset and won 't stretch you very far. A change in routine is something that needs to be adapted to, which is hard. These motivational programs that help people to be leading on to the right path have saved many. People often do not think they work as good as they do. These things don 't only have to be used before or at the beginning of the change, but throughout the persons life. It can be beneficial to continue with even many many years after the fact, becuase it is an ongoing process. This is the beauty of a healthy diet plan that it provides all the necessary elements to your body and at the same time it also helps you to get rid of unwanted weight. No need to mention that these healthy foods are tasty also and certainly, you will relish them. If you are following a weight loss plan which is directing you to eat only a few food items and taking diet shakes at a certain time only. Historically, the nursing profession has been actively involved in the health promotion and disease prevention among the general public. However, while caring for others, nurses often neglect their personal safety, which ultimately results in the high level of work-related injuries. Failure to timely address risk factors for nursing can have dire consequences for patient outcomes, since it is often associated with increased medication errors and patient falls, poor quality of care, and permanent disability of the nursing staff (Stokowski, 2014).

In the United States over seventy percent of adults are considered to be overweight. Maintain a healthy weight. "Determine whether you are overweight by checking your body mass index. If you are overweight, it can lead to a higher risk of chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke and certain cancers."(How) Although the price of a burger is going down the prices of salads goes up. The fast food industry grows daily so while more jobs are being provided more and more people die from a heart attack. "Often a result of unhealthy eating habits and increased weight gain. Dietary habits established in childhood often carry into adulthood" (The importance) As a culture we know that cheating is wrong so why do we cheat our diets or our work outs. We often make new year resolutions but often give up shortly a couple days later, why? To achieve a healthy lifestyle all you have to do is look at the big picture, plan ahead, maintain a healthy diet, and exercise.
What it means to be healthy are the ways in which you treat your body positively. This would include emotional, physical, mentally, socially and the foods you consume on a daily basis. In those aspects it would mean to keep your body in good shape, keep yourself emotionally and mentally stable, and having a good relationship with not only the people around you but with yourself. Being healthy to me does not mean that you do not have a disease because, there are people who have diseases but are healthier than some of us who do not have a disease. Being healthy means to give your body the proper nutrition it needs and not stuffing it with processed and unhealthy foods.
There are plenty of people that do not pay close attention to the nutrition labels on food or do not understand what’s in the food that we eat. If we are expecting the parents, adults, or some of the children to be healthy and are not able to read the nutrition label, how can we expect them to have healthy lifestyles? In order for this new generation be healthy and active. We need to provide them with the support and resources they need. In order, to have a healthy routine. We should be able to offer the support that needs to be able to receive a better outcome for our future generations and as well as the current one.
You’ve probably heard the old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” plenty of time. We’re constantly reminded of the importance of healthy nutrition and healthy eating guides are everywhere. But have you ever stopped to think why eating healthy foods can result to fewer doctor visits? Can you actually prevent disease by focusing more on the foods you eat? Any individual that leads a healthy lifestyle will say that healthy living is more than just a fad or goal, it’s a way of life. Changing certain aspects of one’s current lifestyle to become healthier is not the final goal, rather, the objective of setting these short and long term goals is maintenance. Therefore, I choose to change an aspect of my current lifestyle that I felt would facilitate the improvement of my health and would later become a change that I can maintain over the course of my life; I choose to increase the amount of water I drink per day to improve my inner bodily health.
