What Makes a Good Leader?

What makes a good leader? It depends. Most organizations look for individuals that have something to offer when they look at credentials or a great interview but looks can be deceiving does a good manager necessarily mean that a good leader I do not think so.

Leadership is a topic that will have to be address by every organization .In my opinion no organization will be able to prosper without good leadership. Even though no two leaders are they, same there are plenty of leadership styles and as leaders we have to have to have experience and time to grow and we will eventual find out what type of leaders we are.

I work in a school system where I am a parent Liaison and I work with parent. Even though I’m not their boss I have a great influence over them I believe that I have expert power that’s because I know my job very well and I can answer any question they may have at any given time.

I also have the power to assist them with making appoint for the doctors, I can stop the court proceedings that come from the school system, and by talking to the prosecutor and the police department to stop with any warrants that may be issued, I can teach because parents parental skills because I am a certified educator.

Even though I am not a teacher, I have been in my current position for eleven years and when individuals hear that they automatically assume that I know what I am doing, and they trust that. The Parents has so much faith in my expertise in the knowledge that I have in my job that they do not question anything that I tell them.

Our vision on statement is to Strive for excellence and considering that we are an at risk school district I feel that this statement matches the goals that we would like to reach. Our school have improve in all areas of education since we to our new superintendent she is all for education for our children and the staff.

Yes, it does have successful guild lines to commit to provide education, training, life skills and to develop the minds of our growing children. The schools system has just recently developed a goal for our support staff to educate ourselves as well that is one reason I am taking this class today.

Leaders and managers seem to have a lot in common Being a good manager does not automatically make you a good leader, however if you are to combine the two you can become a great manager/Leader.
