One of the factors that makes Microsoft unique is that they develop on multiple platforms. If one category becomes less valuable over time, Microsoft has other platforms that can still be profitable. Another factor that makes Microsoft unique is that they provide devices and softwares that work well with technologies their costumers already have and are available on a device or via the cloud. Furthermore, Microsoft covers more countries and regions than any other cloud provider. Also, they partner effectively. They chose the right partners to reach more customers and to be of big importance for people. Below are three of their most important subsidiaries: Microsoft India: In 1990, Microsoft entered the Indian market, and has since worked together with the Indian government to modernise their IT structure and develop a network of local developers. The Indian subsidiary of Microsoft is the second largest in the world, trailing only the United States. This hub oversees many projects initiated by Microsoft in India, including mobile software such as Office Mobile. This indicates that they played a big role in the development of Windows Phone, and that they are instrumental to our understanding of the mobile unit of Microsoft. Mojang is a video game developer, mostly famous for Microsoft. Microsoft claimed the major reason for them to purchase Mojang was the HoloLens. The HoloLens focuses on augmented reality. Microsoft wanted to involve Minecraft in this project. When Microsoft introduced the collaboration between Minecraft and the Hololens, there were a lot of positive reactions in the gaming industry.
