Early this February the states surrounding the great lakes in the northeast were pounded by lake-effect snow storms. Some areas saw more than four feet of snow. These states are accustomed to lake-effect snow storms, but it has been some time since they last saw one of this magnitude. Some areas saw up to 140 inches in less than twelve days. The storm was accountable for 35 deaths. (msn.com 2007)

...costing, hot weather, regular, lay on the beach vacation, I suggest taking a trip to Key West, Florida, but for those outdoor types, like myself, who want to experience one of the most breathtaking places in the world and literally sit above the clouds, a vacation getaway to Denali National Park in Alaska is your cup of tea. The colder weather in Alaska was not as bad as I had thought it to be. Common snow clothes were suitable outdoors clothing for the time of the year I went and regular camping supplies worked out for me during my stay. Denali National Park is hands down the most beautiful place in America and is worth every penny it costs you to travel there and experience nature in its purity. It was a life altering experience climbing mountains high above the clouds and seeing how truly magnificent and compelling the earth must have looked thousands of years ago.
With its sheer size, United States has many attractions that one may visit. Whether one is looking for a holiday getaway or just for a long weekend, there is much more to see. The good thing is that attractions are distributed across the whole country. In fact, every city in the United States has its unique attraction. Let us have a look at Mesa Arizona.
Mt Washington in New Hampshire is the tallest mountain in Northeastern United States at 6,288 feet it is also one of the most dangerous ones. This is a mountain that since 1849 has caused the recorded deaths of around 150 people and the weather can change in seconds going from 70 degrees and clear skies to either thunderstorms, blizzards that cover the entire summit in snow and rime ice or hail with temperatures as low as -40 degrees and winds that have been recorded at 254 mph though wind gusts that high are results of rather extreme conditions. Any hiker must plan their trip up the mountain to the absolute smallest and minute detail, reservations must be made in advance and multiple routes off the mountain must be planned in case of either medical emergencies or extreme weather and a bunch of teenagers and our fathers were going to try our best and climb it without anyone increasing that 150 number.
America has proven they can help restore a country’s government when times are tough. After their bombs destroy a country, American planes drop off food for the starving civilians. Indeed, America has shown great leadership, yet they haven’t put as much focus on the problems that is in their own homeland. We are living in a country where the cost of living and minimum wage does not help feed a family, a government that spends billions of dollars to help rebuild other countries, also a man and women having the same college degree but struggles with a gender pay gap.
Technology was a lacking factor on that January 12th day of 1888, which did not give those people warning on what was coming their way. Forecasters that were subject to human error did not have access to information that could have been provided by the Army. Certain weather terminology was forbidding to use for the fear that some cities were immune to these storms. During that day of the blizzard there were no advanced warning signs (outside of the temperature dropping) that the worst blizzard was about to occur, technology had not yet reached that point. If on that day or any day, the Army would have made weather a top priority some of those children could have been saved or at home with their families instead of dying alone in the snow. Forecasters could only get weather information the day of or twenty-four hours before. Many of the weather disasters were not accurate, so if there were any weather predictions good or bad, the people had no choice to believe it. Both parties really did not know any more than the

For me personally, there were four major takeaways. I learned a lot about West Virginia, my group members, Coalfield Development, and myself. This was the deepest into West Virginia I had ever been. Beguiled by the quietness in the mountains and forests. I couldn’t help but observe every small town, holler, and bend around every corner. If there was one thing I learned from people from each town and my group as well, it was that they have a lot of pride in their state and where they come from. Everywhere I went there was someone or something would me of West Virginia pride. My personal theory is that it’s got something to do with those beautiful Appalachian peaks. Maybe just a little bit.
