The knowledge of advanced technology and science, causes (any society to become powerful) the society in Brave New World to become powerful. In Aldous Huxley’s best seller, Brave New World, the society revolves around the usage of science, it is integrated into the lives of all individuals. The society’s ambition is the growth in technology; this is the one goal the citizens of Brave New World are concerned with. Thus, the individuals that are in a different social class do not mind their place in the social hierarchy, “I suppose Epsilons don 't really mind being Epsilons […] of course they don 't. How can they? They don 't know what it 's like being anything else. We 'd mind, of course. But then we 've been differently conditioned. Besides, we start with a different heredity” (Huxley 172). The social class differences that are present within the novel include the specific differences between Alphas and Epsilons; the top of the social ladder and bottom of the social ladder, accordingly. There is a significant difference in social class and how each class is conditioned differently, as to what they enjoy and do not enjoy. Therefore, all social classes are pleased with how their lives unfold; this causes the society to be conflict free. In addition, the classes are conditioned differently depending on the task they are meant to fulfill; this keeps them content with their duties, “[this] is the secret of happiness and virtue- liking what [they have] got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their unescapable social destiny” (Huxley 12). This demonstrates the techniques that the engineers use to keep the population satisfied with their jobs throughout their lives.
