What Is Professional Therapy Case Study

The client of whom is being discussed in this particular case study is Carol, a 38 year old female that has been receiving counseling services for approximately three years now. Carol originally began seeking psychological services as a result of what she believed to be panic attacks as well as having been, at that point, in a particularly bad relationship. Carol is annotated to have not been married to this individual of whom she was in a ‘really bad relationship’ with but she was in fact dating this person. Carol has two children (7 and 4 years old) of whom can attest to the relationship having been an unhealthy one. Initial review of the case study suggests that Carol is in fact struggling with several issues in conjunction with her having had been in an unhealthy relationship; issues including financial woes, aggression, finding a job, her background is indicative of having had two alcoholic parents, struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, and guilt. While these issues arose throughout the course of therapy, it is again stated that the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back and brought Carol in for professional therapy was her having panic attacks that were likely associated with her having been in a bad relationship. While this is stated as the reason for Carol seeking professional therapy, it is not, in my opinion, the most significant issue that she is dealing with or was dealing with. Of the before mentioned psychological issues that can be recognized as occurring with Carol, the most significant of those problems would be guilt.
It is in my opinion that guilt would be the catalyst to the other types of issues that Carol suffers from. When it comes to guilt, Freud was certainly revered as the expert...
