Memory loss… It is characterized by unusual forgetfulness. It is characterized by the inability to remember or retain information. It can affect anyone, young or old, and can be an extreme hassle in daily life. Some may think that they have memory loss but only few are truly diagnosed with it. This is where our story begins. Randell Jacobs: traveler, adventurer, opportunist. It seems there is not a peak in the world that he has not conquered. His audacious personality has taken him all over. Randell decided to stray off his normal course. He needed something new and different to help him today. There had always been rumors and stories about Treht Peak, but Randell never believed them. He always thought the stories about “meetings with the devil” were silly and made up by some kids. The memories of his wife that left him after 19 years of marriage would come flooding back. The memories of his only brother dying because of the actions of a drunk driver would come flooding back. He had forgotten about these, but as he walked away they came crashing back into his mind like a runaway freight train. Randell had thought that his memories would all be happy. The devil kept true to his promise and stuck with Randell. In true evil fashion, the devil lurked in the shadows slowly taking away Randell’s sanity. Piece by piece the devil chipped away. Every single day Randell became progressively more deranged as his mind felt like it was rotting from the inside out. The devil had stripped him of all his happy thoughts to the point where Randell saw his twisted family everywhere he looked. His hopes, his dreams, and his mental health had all been ruined by one simple wish. Randell could not live on in his current state. His mind could not manage the constant stress.
