The first love is agape. Agape love is unending. This love can between any person, a mother and child or husband and wife. It accepts the persons for who they are regardless of their flaws. It’s a love where a person would do anything for the other.
I chose the theme love because as I said before love is a precious gift that God has given us to cherish and love others as we love ourselves. In the Old Testament love is described as affectionate, strong liking, romantic, and sexual implications. Love is described in the New Testament as it has more specific meanings than the English word meaning “love”. I believe that God gave us this gift so that we can share it among others and not harm on another because God loves us all the time even when we are sinning. My thinking about love is that most people today do not know the meaning of love, I believe that if God was able to physically sit down and speak to us he would be
To the speaker God’s opinion is very important. This is a sign of endearment which reminds the reader that of the speaker’s love for God. Similarly in John Donne’s poem Holy Sonnet XIV fear of inadequacy c... ... middle of paper ... ...s. While these sonnets may not be overly romantic they do follow a reverent and loving background. It is obvious that both Milton and Donne projected a portrait of a dignified God who they greatly love and respect. By not giving either speaker what they ask for God forces them to truly think about why they are asking for such things.
When the lawyer confronted Jesus with the question of the greatest commandment He did not hesitate to tell the lawyer that the greatest commandments revolved around love. Not just regular love, but agape love, which is a type of love that God shows to individuals. This type of love is an unconditional type love that is shown to people even when things are not good. When Jesus was on the earth he expected people to cherish and obey these commandments in hope of one day entering the kingdom of heaven.
Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). Love is the most powerful emotion known to humankind. Some of us are not currently in a relationship, some are at the beginning of a relationship, or have been in a relationship for a long time. Based on my experience and observations, I notice that
Emerson explains this also, “Religion is to do right. It is to love. It is to serve. It is to be humble.” Without faith that a beautiful future is out there, anyone could do anything without repercussions. Your relationship with God is important because it allows you to reflect over yourself and what you believe in.
Missions exists only because worship does not because of the fall, missions must take place in order to share the love of Christ with those who are distanced from him by sin, and show them that a repairing of this separation is possible in Christ alone. Missions can work as an aid to worship, in that it brings glory to God by introducing the nations to him and hope that they in turn will worship Christ with us and follow after him. In this way, missions is reliant on worship as its fuel, because without missions, worship is reduced to a clanging of symbols and is only a ramble. The desire to follow after God with one’s whole heart and to glorify him is the true motivation for Christians to pursue missions in their life. Selfish ambition towards missions may be used by God but it will not be blessed by Him.
In 1 Corinthians 13, the word of God told us about the patience and kindness of God. It said love does not boast, God does not brag of how powerful he is. We are also told it is not proud. God’s love is not rude and it is not self-seeking. God 's love is not easily angered.
Christians today love others and serve God because of the desires of the Spirit. With the freedom in Christ, we are to love and not do what the flesh wants. No Christian is perfect, but by living and walking by the Spirit, we are freed from the condemnation of the law and of the
There is no true meaning. Everything and everyone has their own meaning and beliefs on the four letter word. We revolve our lives around love. It affects us. People can do some dreadful things out of hate and fear, but love can push us to do much, much worse.
