After doing an intake, I would like to refer Juna case to your facility for the services that she needs. I would like to give you a brief history of Juna and the challenges that she is dealing with. Both of Juna’s parents survived abusive childhoods and became alcoholics as adults. Juna has two other sisters with the same parents. She has witnessed domestic violence on all accounts in her childhood during her parents’ alcohol binges. There was a well-documented history of domestic violence in the marriage. When Juna was four, her father sexually molested her and before she turns six her maternal grandfather also began to sexual abuse her. Her mother was aware of these abuses but did nothing to protect her. This case is best understood using Developmental theoretical perspective. Erikson’s psychosocial theory that details on how personality develops through stages in life from birth to old age. Erikson’s theory focus on eight distinct stages of development and he stated that at each stage people face some conflict or crisis. Stage 3 of Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development emphasize on initiative versus guilt. At this stage, the child frequently relates with other kids but this wasn’t the case of Juna. Instead of feeling secured and initiating play she was seen socially withdrawn, appeared very sad because of the guilt and trauma she was going through which slowed the process of Juna interacting with other kids. This led to her having some difficulty controlling her anger. Due to the failure on the part of her caretakes to protect her it affected her ability to move along this stage successful to the next stage and have a healthy personality because there was crisis which resulted in her life being
