This means taking what we need to live now, without threatening the potential for people in the future to meet their needs.
‘Being Green’ means making decisions that are more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible that can help in protecting the environment and preserve natural resources for present and future generations.
Environmentally Friendly means that something is good for the environment, example is riding a bicycle which is good for the environment compared to driving a car which is causing air pollution.
3.0 Integrated Waste Management
Integrated waste management is the management of the entire life cycle of waste system such as avoidance, production, collection, recovery, reuse, treatment and disposal (as shown in Figure 1.0).
Better waste management includes:
• maximising the value of resources by recovering and reusing materials;
• keeping environmental impacts related to disposing of waste to landfill at minimum; and
• making sure that the waste management service meets current and future community

3.1 Material Recovery
Material recovery means separating and processing waste products in order to recover components that can be re-used. Waste that is going to landfill is a valuable resource that adds a value to the economy once it is recovered. Recovering and reusing materials provides additional $100 per tonne compared to sending those materials to landfill (Inside Waste, Industry Report 2011-2012). On the other hand recycling of waste materials into new products requires less energy than creating these from raw materials.
Some of the initiatives used in material recovery are listed below.
Household Chemical Collection Program
Household chemical collection program through permanent drop-off sites and mobile collection events. Permanent drop-off sites are opened all year round and accept household paint, batteries and compact florescent lamps. ‘Detox your Home’ is the annual mobile collection event held across 31 locations in order to dispose of highly toxic household chemicals free of charge.
Reduce, recycle and recycle could be a construct that individuals area unit beginning to perceive and to use to each life round the world (GOV.UK, 2013). This knowledge base essay can explore info concerning use by totally different resources that are provided to use such as the web, books, journals and alternative resources that needs to offer American state info on use. This essay can discover use as business, environmental and policy perspective. Use is that the methodology by that we tend to recover valuable resources to be re-used once more and once more. However just one a part of healing the atmosphere, it's a sensible action that people altogether businesses participate in daily routines on recycling (Reclaim, 2013). While recycling is only one part to healing the environment it is a practical action that individuals in all businesses and people take part in every day.

For the past twenty years, society has surpassed the “Waste equals sustenance” analysis (Frederick, 2007). Individuals have begun to overload our municipal landfills with waste products that could be reused or recycled. By abusing landfills with these waste products, society has begun causing harm to the environment. There are many anti-recycling activists like John Tierney who oppose recycling because he believes it to be a waste of taxpayer’s dollars, and the public’s time and energy (Hershkowitz, 1998). In today’s society recycling ha...
Basically people have an idea that recycling reduces waste that is sent to the recycling stations and incinerators, true… typically no one wants a landfill or incinerator built in our community (“Recycling Basics” Green House Recycling). For many of us, recycling has become a part of our daily lives. We know that recycling conserves space in our landfills. Materials that are eventually sent to landfills have negative environmental impacts. Once the material reach the landfill, the environmental impact increase as contaminants and greenhouse emissions which are caused from the breakdown of organic material that reach into the air, soil, and water tables. Therefore it is essential to reduce the amount of material sent to lan...
Recycling of resources, materials and in the end, of waste is an important part of sustainability because it reduces the negative human impact on environment and helps reduce the pressure on natural resources. Recycling process is require waste and then collect it from landfill after that sorting it after that product going to recovery then going to recycled pellets after that it is create as a new product for use.
Green energy is a type of energy we use daily. We have many types of energy including Coal, oil, wind, electric, wind, solar geothermal, water, natural gas, biomass, nuclear, and hydrogen. Out of those 12 energies, only wind, solar, geothermal, water, and biomass are renewable and are green. While4 of the remaining, coal, oil natural gas, and nuclear are non-renewable and are not green. Lastly, the remaining 2 energies, electricity and hydrogen are secondary energy sources. (English Online)Based on the graph below, we can lower the lifecycle of greenhouse gases and stop pollution that causes global warming (Union of Concerend Scientists).Graph: (IPCC)
Green computing, also called green technology, is an eco-conscious way of developing, using and recycling technology, as well as utilizing resources in a
Green Marketing also known as environmental or ecological marketing is building a stronghold in today’s business environment. The concept is based on diminishing an organization’s destructive and injurious impact to the environment by implementing sustainable practices in their marketing activities. It is a radical approach as it tries to pursue sales targets and consumer satisfaction, using limited resources. Many organizations have developed eco-friendly practices as part of
"Green." What do you think of when you hear this word? Conservative Americans trying to help the earth? People who are willing to bend over backwards to save the natural world? People who will sacrifice their own desires in order to save the land and animals? If this is what you think of when you hear the term "green," you are perfectly correct. To be "green," gives an environmentally protective, conservative, and unselfish appearance, and isn't that what most corporations, organizations and Americans want? Calling oneself green may give that particular business or organization that desired reputation. Presenting oneself as caring about the environment could conveniently bring themselves customers, sales, a tax break, a good name, and most of all money.
Recycling is such a fantastic way for us to reuse the waste we once throw. Yet, not everything is easy to be done in this world. There many difficulties that face recycling process economically and socially. Usually In order to recycle, waste paper needs to be sorted and treated from any Impurities. Which means that companies will loss finance because there must be someone or something that could sort or treat these papers. Another problem is that to start recycling, companies needs a lot of good recyclable supply to pick it up; after all, they need good economic benefits (Problems with Recycling, 2014). According to the Waste and Resources Action Program, there are some barriers p...
“Going Green” means to pursue knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyle. It is a movement that many participate in to help improve the environment. Technology improves the “Going Green” movement since machines can help one save money, energy, and resources from being wasted (i.e. using hand dryers in replacement of having paper towels exchange periodically). There are many ways the society pursues “Going Green” such as going paperless, carpooling, and using solar panels. “Going Green” affects human behavior because it involves technological advancement, sometimes resulting in job loss.
There are also several long term benefits of recycling. For example, “collecting and processing secondary materials, manufacturing recy...
Hazardous waste management is defined as the collection, treatment and disposal of unwanted material that poses the threat to the environmental chemical under managed conditions. In the hazardous management system, the treatment technologies are an inevitable method for a waste management stream. Treatment process is a significant method used to minimise the amount of hazardous waste produced and recover useful products. It can be classified into chemical, physical and biological methods. One of the best ways to get rids of waste is through chemical treatment process. Chemical treatment methods mostly use different properties of chemical to alter the characteristic of hazardous element into less hazardous elements. It is usually required an
That means you need to sit down and assess everything in your life from your lifestyle, to the products you use, to the way you use those products then make the changes necessary to go green. For example, you can start by studying the products you use and check into its eco friendly counterpart then make the switch. You should then assess your home, appliances and your lifestyle habits to see where you could make some changes in a way that would conserve energy and protect the environment. Then you could learn to recycle and implement that as one of your lifestyle changes and so on.
Green technology is the technology whose main aim is reduce the impact of human activities on the environment. In other words the target of green technology is to consume less natural resources, reduce the emission, produce goods with energy efficiency, take care of health and safety issues and reuse and recycle the goods after their usage.
