What Dogs Need
People and animals need the same things to be happy and healthy.
Just like you, your dog needs food, water, shelter, grooming, health
care, and love.
Puppy eating.Below shows things, which help dogs to stay happy and
healthy!
Water For Your Dog
------------------
Your dog needs at least 2 dishes filled with fresh water everyday. One
should be in the house and the other should be outside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The water should always be kept clean, cool and fresh. If the water
gets dirty or warm during the day, your dog would be very happy to get
a cool refill.
A dog in his doghouse.Did you know that your dog's water would freeze
in the winter when it is very cold? It will also get too warm in hot,
summer weather. If the water is too warm, it cannot cool your dog's
body. Here are some special tips to help keep your dog safe and happy
in hot and cold weather.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Shelter For Your Dog
--------------------
People and animals need shelter from the harsh elements of weather.
Wild animals go to their den or cave to escape the hot sun and cold
rain. A shelter provides safety from other animals that might cause
them harm. A shelter is a safe area to call home. A dog without a
fenced yard or enclosed patio is a dog that is not safe. Dogs that are
allowed to run loose will eventually become lost, stolen or hit by a
car. This is not a safe situation for your dog and it is against the
law.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In many families, dogs do live outside. That's okay as long as they
have shelter outside from the bad weather. A special doghouse is good;
access to a garage is fine, as long as there are no dangers for the
dog to find. A bed inside of the doghouse or garage would be as
welcome as flowers in springtime.

Pit bulls, the most dangerous dog to ever live. People like to train Pit Bulls to fight other dogs until they are either hurt or dead. The owners that train the dogs are usually the ones that make the dog turn out to be vicious and dangerous. “Each year, 1.2 million dogs are euthanized, approximately 40% of whom are Pit Bulls”(Moore). Pit Bulls don’t know better to understand which is right from wrong since they’re being raised up to fight and protect. Pit Bulls aren’t good family dogs due to the power of their strength and that they could attack at any moment.
A dog is often times referred to as “Man’s Best Friend.” Many people have dogs and enjoy spending time with them. Dogs may be friendly and tame but may also be ferocious and dangerous. Because of these contrasting potential behaviors, along with others, I believe that workplaces should not allow employees to bring their dogs to work.
This is a myth. First off there is no breed named pitbull. It is simply a term grouping dog breeds like the American Staffordshire Terrier and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier together. Any dog who resembles the appearance of these 2 breeds is categorized as a pitbull. 2nd it's how you raise them that makes pitbulls, or any dog aggressive. The media makes the pitbull seen as a “tough” dog, and this attracts the bad owners to the breed. A dog who is abused and neglected is going to think all humans are bad because it has never been treated kindly by a human. Imagine you are tied up to a tree, in someone's backyard. The only human contact you get is when your owner comes out to feed you once a week. The nextdoor neighbor throws rocks at you and shoots you with a bebe gun when you bark. Your were never given a pat on the head or never got your belly rubbed. Are you going to react to humans the same way as the dog who was treated like family? Of course not. You have never had a positive experience with humans. It doesn't matter whether the dog chained to a tree is a Pitbull, Rottweiler or golden retriever, they are all going to react the same way to humans. According to PETA, dogs who are kept outdoors are 3 times more likely to attack then house dogs. I agree dog bites need to be regulated, but murdering innocent dogs is not the way to go. Since 2003 more than 450 people, many
Previous to moving his dogs to the Pet Bath House, the owner of the dogs boarded them at a facility in Valley Springs where they stayed for 18 months. According to police, he visited the dogs on a regular basis, but in Mid-June, he was advised that the dogs were showing signs of “kennel stress” and would have to be moved.
Dogs are used to keep crime low, reports of a subway which have had at least 20 muggings in the timeframe of a couple of months, later dogs were emplaced down in the dangerous subway and the muggings ceased quickly (Bilger 2). Dogs also patrol crowded places to sniff unattended luggage, vehicles, and planes, for illegal or suspicious or dangerous contents, such as explosives or drugs (Dogs on Duty 1). Dogs also are used to sniff out a dozen kinds of explosives that machinery can consequently miss, providing less risk to passengers, troops, etc. (Blackwell

Some shelters have been over populated with Pitbull’s and Pitbull mixes. Just Pitbull’s can make up almost 60 percent of dog shelters population. Most of these dogs are considered unadoptable and therefore

Treating them as such, providing them with the care, training and supervision they require, and judging them by their actions and not by their DNA or their physical appearance is the best way to ensure that dogs and people can continue to share safe and happy lives together.(ASPCA) Well publicized attacks on people by dogs identified by pit bulls led to the passing of legislation in some jurisdictions banning or restricting the keeping of the breeds.(Brittanica) Like John Wayne in The Quiet man, this mutt wont start a fight.(Kilcommons, Brian, and Michael Capuzzo.) Despite their reputation, pits are not nasty dogs by any means.(Kilcommons, Brian, and Michael Capuzzo.)The reality is that dogs of many breeds can be selectively bred or trained to develop aggressive traits. Therefore the responsible ownership of any dog requires a commitment to proper socialization, humane training and conscientious supervision. Despite our best efforts, there will always be dogs of various breeds that are simply too dangerous to live safely in society. We can effectively address the danger posed by these dogs by supporting the passage and vigorous enforcement of laws that focus, not on breed,
As the saying goes, a dog is a man’s best friend. The dog is a loving companion to a man. He is happy to go everywhere with his master. He shows his affection for his master by wagging his tail and licking his hand or face. This timeless relationship continues to evolve into new kinds of human-dog interactions that increasingly benefit society.
Anyone, who visits an animal shelter, as I do, sees an extraordinary number of beautiful, affectionate, and desperate dogs and cats. The majority of animals in any particular shelter are dogs, usually adults, for whom there aren't enough adoptive homes waiting. A few may have come from responsible breeders, whose owners do not realize that the breeder will take them back, many are those who are lost, and/or from owners who simply got tired of them. Some are pet shop puppies from a puppy mill that did not meet the owner's expectations due to health, temperament, or other reasons. A large number usually turn out to be the result of deliberate and irresponsible home breeding. These people are known as "back-yard breeders." And that is not a compliment.
Training your dog is the most important part of canine companionship. A happy dog is one who has structure and boundaries. Dogs are pack animals, and as such, they need guidance in the behavior that you expect from them. If you don't follow through in this leadership role, then the dog will naturally feel as if it is his place to do so. A dog that understands that you are the leader will naturally be easier to train.
Thesis: “Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is the banning or restriction of specific breeds of dogs considered “dangerous”, such as pit bull breeds, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, and German shepherds amongst many others” according to the American Humane Association (2013). It is an inaccurate and unfair attempt at regulating dog attacks by restricting ownership of certain breeds categorized as aggressive.
Have you ever wondered, how it feels to be in a place where is overcrowded, and you are next in line to be euthanize? This is the life of the shelter animal when no one adopts them for a certain period of time. According to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or known as ASPCA, each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized, which are 1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats. I am sure; most of you have some point in your life, owned a dog or a cat. Whether you are an animal lover or not, you don’t want to see innocent animals losing their lives. I personally have adopted a dog from a local shelter. There is no doubt that pet adoption from a shelter is a satisfying decision that will save innocent
