What does community health mean to you? Community health to me is a group of people that live within the same area where their interest is to improve the overall health of the individuals. Individuals work together to be able to come to concepts to better improve the health for those that live in the region by education, awareness and promoting the advancement of educational tools that can improve the overall quality of living. Means that are taken can range from primary intervention, such as washing hands and immunization to secondary interventions such as working on improving the environment that they live in to tertiary intervention, which includes the measures that the hospital uses to maintain an overall health status. What kind of organization(s) do you see yourself working? The organizations that I see myself working in the future are possibly The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM); this organization “provides education and networking for healthcare professionals” (American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management). …show more content…

Health promotion improves the quality of life that individuals have and it also helps to be able to expand a healthy lifestyle. Health educators can range from teachers in schools to government agencies that aid in educating individuals and communities. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health promotion enables people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. The WHO states that health promotion moves beyond the focus of individual behavior to social and environmental interventions. In my opinion, I believe that Para-professionals should also be qualified to be health educators. They are around patients and are possibly able to educate people more than just health educators.
